GOP leaders less critical than Mitt Romney in response to Libya attack
Washington Post ^ | 9/12/12 | Ed O'Keefe

But no Republican leader [other than Romney] criticized President Obama on Wednesday morning. They called instead for stronger security at U.S. diplomatic facilities, the swift capture and punishment of the perpetrators and a renewed commitment to pro-democracy efforts in the Arab world.

Now is “a time for healing,” Ryan (R-Wis.) told a crowd in De Pere, Wis., during a campaign stop. He made no criticism of Obama in his remarks.

House Speaker John A. Boehner (R-Ohio) said in a statement: “We mourn for the families of our countrymen in Benghazi, and condemn this horrific attack. Eleven years after September 11, this is a jolting reminder that freedom remains under siege by forces around the globe who relish violence over free expression, and terror over democracy — and that America and free people everywhere must remain vigilant in defense of our liberties.”

House Majority Leader Eric Cantor (R-Va.) added in a separate statement that, “These attacks will not deter America from continuing to promote peace, democracy, individual and religious freedom and an unwavering respect for human life throughout the region and the world.”

In the Senate, Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) usually reserves his morning Senate floor remarks to sharply criticize Obama administration policy. But Wednesday he struck a more somber tone and expressed support for “employing every available tool at our disposal to ensure the safety of Americans overseas and to hunt down those responsible for these attacks.

Even Sens. John McCain (R-Ariz.), Joseph I. Lieberman (I-Conn.) and Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) — a troika that regularly critiques the Obama administration’s foreign policy — urged Obama to continue supporting democracy efforts in Libya and Egypt.

Why isn't anyone backing up Romney here? I'm disturbed. What's going on?

Well, McCain for one was calling for intervention in Libya. He asked for this.

GOP RINO leaders too afraid to speak out against the Kenyan Marxist. Maybe now Romney will begin to understand what Sarah Palin had to deal with when she would say something about Obama and NO ONE in the GOP would back her up

It is ok. The whole thing about leadership is leading. Let Romney attack Obama on this.

A “time for healing”?

What kind of a pathetic mealy-mouthed statement is that?

‘GOP leaders less critical than Mitt Romney in response to Libya attack’

No surprise there...they’re still trying to figure out in which direction their knickers should be twisted...and, it will really depend on which direction the wind is blowing.

IMO, the GOP leadership has no gonads and suffers from ED.

I’m sure we’ll be seeing Newt Gingrich making the rounds on the networks but he really does not count as he is not an elected official.

Don’t get me wrong, he counts. But it’s not his job to have to go out and do what should be done by our elected “leaders”.

Rush mentioned that one reporter (ONE!) asked Obama if this was a grounds for war. Obama put his arm around Hillary and walked out without answering, or even deflecting the question.

We are in deep doodoo when everybody is afraid of the magic negro. (racist!)

Now is “a time for healing,” Ryan (R-Wis.) told a crowd in De Pere, Wis.

No Mr. Ryan, now is a time for justice to be served, there will be time for healing later

He is probably working on his tan before heading to the bar.

Let's give Romney credit for his vision and strength. He is leading and the GOP will follow. We should not nit pick the GOP now. This is a major incident and Obama blew it big time.

Nothing but a bunch of pu$$ies!

Why the hell aren’t they calling for retaliation? Why aren’t they screaming for Zero to do something? If they stayed on top of this, hour after hour after hour, constantly pounding on the puss-in-chief, Zero would end up in a corner of the oval office in the fetal position.

Palin is correct. The GOP is done. No balls, no brains, no spine, no men.

We were duped again!

RUN SARAH, RUN!
