Exactly! I hope that this keeps playing with conservatives asking for the General to step down for this treasonous act of cowardice. Time for Romney to step up to the plate on this one and hit that mother hard.
I know top military brass are political, but this is beyond the pale. I hope Jones told the general where he would lodge this suggestion.

General Dempsey is too preoccupied with political correctness to be an effective leader of our forces. He needs to be replaced.
General - Your JOB, your DUTY, is to kill the enemies of America not to be their advocate or to defend them. Another part of your duty is to defend the US Constitution, including the 1st Amendment

Maybe we should announce individual Koran burnings and it for telephone calls from the Chairman of the Joint Chief of Staff.
Imagine how such an action being taken during WWII if someone did something that might offend the Japanese or the Germans.
WHY is an arm of the US governement doing this? By what authority?
Navy Pilot for 26 years and I couldn’t get into Politics. I know this Chairman and he has been a kiss ass all his career and now he is saying this BS. He should resign and let a real Warrior take over, if there is one left.

A military officer has no business whatsoever asking a civilian to do or not do anything. Period.
Hey Dempsey, call Obama and find out why he refused to let US Marines protect our embassy in Libya. Then ask him if he ever gave any thought to the fact that Afghan security forces murder US officers on a daily basis prior to hiring Libyan security for that embassy.
