The Democrats think Romney just self-destructed by pointing out, um, THEIR ENTIRE STRATEGY
Daily Caller ^ | 09/18/2012 | Jim Treacher

There are 47 percent of the people who will vote for the president no matter what. All right, there are 47 percent who are with him, who are dependent upon government, who believe that they are victims, who believe the government has a responsibility to care for them, who believe that they are entitled to health care, to food, to housing, to you-name-it. That that’s an entitlement. And the government should give it to them. And they will vote for this president no matter what…These are people who pay no income tax.

I can see why Democrats are so offended. How dare Mitt Romney say they’re dependent on the government? Only Democrats get to say they’re dependent on the government!

Has everybody already forgotten “Julia”?

If you haven’t seen the whole “Life of Julia” slideshow on Obama’s campaign site, or if you need a refresher, check it out. The entire premise is that you’re dependent on the government from cradle to grave, and The Evil Mitt Romney is going to take it all away from you and make you fend for yourself.

That’s Obama’s reelection message: “Vote for me or Romney will take away all the free goodies you’ve got coming to you! By the way, can you believe he called you a mooch?” The Democrats based their whole convention around the premise that you need Obama just to survive. (Well, that and killing Bin Laden. Which they suddenly don’t feel like talking about anymore, for some odd reason…)

The economy is collapsing. Our embassies are being overrun. Our diplomats are being murdered, and our own government is blaming it on the First Amendment...

I heard a story the other day of some disabled vet that was having a portion of his disability check withheld by the government because he failed to pay on his student loan. Good luck to those chaining themselves to the compassionate government bureaucracy.

—— This is pretty cool. Romney has gone up a few notches in my book. He tells it like it is then defends it and the icing on the cake is that the idiots with the “hidden video” release information where Romney eays that the “Palestinians*” do not want peace. This is so cool on many levels! -——

Yup. And they believe that our celebration is simply an attempt, by us, to hide our fear, because they project their fundamental dishonesty onto us.

It works on so many levels ;-)

Some freedom-loving person of wealth needs to use his/her wealth to flood TV screens, the Internet and full-page ads in newspapers with a 2012 version of the 1776 Declaration of Independence, substituting Obama intrusions on individual liberty for those of King George!

Let "the People" decide whether they wish to be free or to be slaves to big government.

Hear Samuel Adams:

"Is it now high time for the people of this country to explicitly declare whether they will be free men or slaves. It is an important question which ought to be decided. It concerns more than anything in this life. The salvation of our souls is interested in this event. For wherever tyranny is established, immorality of every kind comes in like a torrent, it is in the interest of tyrants to reduce the people to ignorance and vice.” - Samuel Adams

And:

“The utopian schemes of leveling and a community of goods, are as visionary and impractical as those which vest all property in the crown. These ideas are arbitrary, despotic, and, in our government unconstitutional.” - Samuel Adams

"To preserve [the] independence [of the people,] we must not let our rulers load us with perpetual debt. We must make our election between economy and liberty, or profusion and servitude. If we run into such debts as that we must be taxed in our meat and in our drink, in our necessaries and our comforts, in our labors and our amusements, for our callings and our creeds, as the people of England are, our people, like them, must come to labor sixteen hours in the twenty-four, give the earnings of fifteen of these to the government for their debts and daily expenses, and the sixteenth being insufficient to afford us bread, we must live, as they now do, on oatmeal and potatoes, have no time to think, no means of calling the mismanagers to account, but be glad to obtain subsistence by hiring ourselves to rivet their chains on the necks of our fellow-sufferers." --Thomas Jefferson to Samuel Kercheval, 1816. "Here is how we see it in this house. He made the statement and stands by it, although he admits that maybe he could have stated it better."

Meanwhile we have innocent Americans dying because we have a narcissistic president who would rather play golf and go on morning pop radio shows than attend security briefings. That is something to be ashamed of, and to apologize for- not this.

If this was Obama, he run crying to the media and say: “What I said was taken out of context.....out of context...out of context....out of context.”

"Romney’s “secret speech” was his best moment since he started to run for president. As a conservative, I’d say he gets it and I hope he wins in 11/12."

Yep.

"...people might prefer "secret" Romney to the Romney we're used to seeing. He's more direct and clear, less stammering and reticent. And he's long had a problem with seeming inauthentic. Maybe it's time to roll out The Secret Romney."

The basic argument that Romney makes is correct but he made at least a small technical error in equating the Obama Core Voting Base with the 47 Percent Who Pay No (Income) Tax.

There is considerable overlap in the two groups but they cannot be equated. I offer as evidence my poor as a church mouse sister-in-law who is a super-duper conservative. And certainly the Hollywood types as a group are not typically part of the 47 percent Who Pay No Tax.

A small point.

I heard the Ken Rogulski report live and just about choked at the stupidity of some people. You can’t just be ignorant. Comments like hers are willfully stupid.

In my opinion, if you are getting a monthly check courtesy of the taxpayers, with the exception of unemployment or socialist security, you should forfeit your right to vote until you are paying your way.

If it was Obama, he’d send his goons out to attack whoever he was speaking to when he said it. Think Joe the plumber...

Leave it to Mother Jones and David Corn who have their fingers on the pulse of the electorate...after four months...with help from the ENTIRE media.

This is simply more smoke and mirrors to get the sheeple directed away from Obama’s disastrous Middle East mess. They must keep people focused anywhere but on the fact that the entire administration dropped the ball on making sure our foreign assets and personnel were safe on 9/11, of all dates.

They will not succeed.
