Florida:
In 2004 the vote was R+4.
In 2008 the vote was D+3
CBS/NYTs is reporting that in 2012 we will see D+9.
Ohio:
In 2004 the vote was R+5
In 2008 the vote was D+8
CBS/NYTs is reporting that in 2012 we will see D+9
Pennsylvania:
In 2010 the vote was D+3
In 2008 the vote was D+7
CBS/NYTs is reporting that in 2012 we will see D+9.

I don’t think 2010 numbers are accurate either but 2008 for sure aren’t. Maybe something in the middle. A Presidential race is always going to have more Democrats participating then a mid-term election. Democrats for the most time from what I gather really only think having a Democratic President is important (weird I know but that is the way I see it).
I have never seen the like for Democrat ad lies and the MSM trying to cover for them.
Thank you very much for publishing this... If the democrats are going to experience this massive decline in absentee ballots as you are showing and a similar ratio of decline on Elections Day then there is no way that Obama can win Ohio... The math cannot be refuted in this case...
I do think conservative turnout will be high like in 2010, but democratic turnout will be higher than 2010 so I don’t think you can reset the polls to those numbers. Blacks, for instance, never turnout for midterms. I do think dems are oversampled a bit, but not to the extent the unskewed polls showing Romney with a significant lead by using 2010 numbers. My opinion is that I agree with Rassmussen and it is somewhere in the middle and it is essentially a tie right now.

I'm not saying Obama won't carry the black vote... but the enthusiasm is gone.
It helps Romney that Madonna has promised to strip naked if Obama wins.

My town is about 40% black and I disagree, the enthusiasm is there (Newport News, VA). I have a lot of black FB friends from HS and they are all still in the tank. I am not seeing the yard signs and the bumper stickers at 2008 levels from the whites (I’m not seeing them for Romney either), but the blacks still support the usurper here. There are only 2 houses on my street with signs this year and my house is not one of them. Both signs are Romney, but it is a conservative white voting neighborhood. In 2008, I’d say a good 75% of yards had a sign and about 75% of those were McCain... though Obama won my precinct 51-49.

How does having unrealistically optimistic polls get them to vote? They would be more likely to stay home because they think the election is in the bag.
