Our People Won't Stay Home

BEGIN TRANSCRIPT

RUSH: Here's Michael in Columbia, South Carolina. I really appreciate your patience, too. Thank you for holding.

CALLER: Well, thank you. It's a pleasure and honor to have a chance to speak with you. I tell everyone I was on a conference call with 30 or 40 million people.

RUSH: (laughing) All right, cool.

CALLER: Snerdley helped me to condense my question. I'm really curious what your thoughts are on just how many conservatives you think so are really gonna be persuaded to stay home or will be influenced by polls. Most of us conservatives out here are smarter than that, you know? I mean, we're the vast majority of the population.

RUSH: I don't think it's going to work.

CALLER: Exactly!

RUSH: I think -- if I may use this phrase "our people," I think -- our people are so revved up that there's not one bit of media fraud that can make 'em sit home.

CALLER: Yep.

RUSH: I think we're beating them in early voting. I think we're beating them in absentee. I think our people can't wait to show up. I'll tell you, there's another segment out there that nobody will ever poll, at least not the Gallups and the CNN's and the New York Times and all that. There are a lot of people out there who are not happy at all over the encroachment on their religious freedom. There are a lot of people who do not like Obama telling the Catholic Church where to go and to get off doing that and so forth.

They do not like that. They're never gonna be polled, but I will guarantee you (call 'em the Values Voters) they are sitting out there and they, too, want to vote. They are chomping at the bit waiting to get to the polls. So I don't think the suppression effort is going to work. However, the reason I spent time today addressing this and the reason I decided to is because there's genuine fear that others will sit home.

I hear from people, friends of mine. "Oh, gosh, Rush! Do you see this? I'm worried our people aren't gonna show up." Nobody is worried about themselves. Nobody tells me, "I've had it! I'm fed up. Screw Romney. Screw Ryan. Screw voting." Nobody's telling me that. They're still saying, "Screw Obama. To hell with Obama." But they're worried that people they don't know are gonna be affected by it and will sit home.

CALLER: Yeah. The only people that I know that really ask me about what I think about the polls are people that are not necessarily conservative for the most part. So they look at 'em and they kinda sorta wonder about 'em if they're believable or not. And I tell them, "No. It's all BS, and I think it's gonna be a landslide and I look forward to it." They look at me like I'm a little crazy and I say, "Hey, just wait."

RUSH: Well, they look at you like you're crazy because nobody's saying that. The landslide is Obama. I'm gonna tell you something.

CALLER: Well, I say that just to (garbled).

RUSH: On Obama's side right now, there's nobody... Although I'm gonna take that back. I was gonna say that I don't think the Obama people think they could possibly lose. I think the truth of the matter is they're worried. They're in Ohio. They're spending less time in Iowa. If they've got this wrapped up, why are they there? Why are they sending Obama out there? Why are they having him go on The View and Letterman and Jay-Z and blow off all these world leaders? I'll tell you what: The base that's unsettled is his. He's got the base-turnout problem, not us.

CALLER: Well, there are very dear friends of ours that are die-hard Democrats, and even they're -- I mean, it's a good sign that they're -- pretty much not voting for Obama this time. So I think there's some hope for even folks like that.

RUSH: Well, that's interesting. I hope there's a lot of that. People vote for all kinds of different reasons. Democrats vote for Democrats just because they're Democrats. There are a lot of people, I don't know what percentage, that don't look at this election the way I just described it. I look at this election as ball game for America as founded. Now, if Obama wins, the next day is not gonna be the gulags or anything like that. But I know the guy. I know what his plans are. I know what his intentions are.

I know liberals!

I know what happens when they're in charge of things economically. Look at New Orleans and Detroit. Take a look wherever they run things and there's no opposition. I just challenge you. Moscow, Beijing, Havana, go anywhere. You will not find the kind of prosperity that you are accustomed to in this country. They are just incapable of it. No, I don't think it's over forever if Obama wins, 'cause at some point the people of this country are as resilient as they could be.

If Obama wins, I guarantee you it isn't gonna be two years before a lot of people that vote for the guy are gonna wake up and they're gonna start asking themselves what they have done. I don't want to think about that in those terms down the road. Now, I need to correct this: Not all of us all of us are gonna end up in the gulags. There will be some who are targeted for the gulags shortly after the election. The regime has plans, I'm sure. But you're safe. You're safe.

I appreciate the call very much, Michael.

I hope you enjoy the Marxist revolution and the state socialism Obama has planned... To say there is no difference between Obama and Romney is objectively false. ROmney is not everything one might wish, but he’s miles better than the Marxist.

Pretty much. I get the impression the trolls are out in droves on FR. This loon who says he is staying home is a troll. Actually, I get the feeling that the democrats are so overplaying their hand that it will be the democrats staying home because they think they are winning by 20% and they have it in the bag and they think they do not need to bother voting.

Good luck with your election. Good luck with talking conservatives into voting for a Mormon RINO chump who is laughing in your face and getting even richer.

And good luck convincing the GOP in 2016 that this time they better nominate a conservative or the base will go away.

Man, are you are ever taking heat!

Let me just say that the message you may THINK you are
are sending by staying home is NOT the message that will
be received by the GOP establishment, the liberal estab-
lishment and, especially, the MSM.

On the other hand maybe you don’t give two dead flies
about sending any kind of a message. But, if that was the
case I would wonder why you would even bother to tell us
your election day non-plans.

“We all lose if Obama wins.”

We also all loose if the Magic Mormon wins. We lose either way.

You would think by now, that the “we must vote for Romney to beat Obama” crowd would realize that real principled conservatives will not be force fed a phoney like Romney.

Give me someone I can vote for, not just someone to use to vote against Obama. There is no lesser of two evils. Evil is evil. Romney will not represent my beliefs or values. I will not vote for him anymore than I would Obama.

Well, if I thought for one minute that Romney would deny the obvious terror attack in Libya, intentionally destroy our economy, bow to a Saudi Prince, apologize profusely for...being America, (surely you see where this is going), then I would not vote for Romney.

Romney is no Reagan, but he ain’t no Obama either.

As for McCain...we wasn’t the best candidate, but he was better than Obama.

We can move the country back to the Right...one step at a time. We just have to take that first one.

“See, I believe that we are already past the tipping point.”

You really are naive. Nothing worse can happen, huh?

How about those hefty taxes that are planned for the “rich” (really small businesses) in January? Think that might possibly cause our economy to get even worse by increasing the jobless?

How about the $1 trillion dollar debt (conservatively estimated) for the next fiscal year’s budget and every year’s budget thereafter?

How about the disregard and attacking of the rights of all religious institutions, who will be forced to pay for something they believe is morally wrong? Do you think quite possibly Catholic hospitals and facilities might possibly go out of business?

How about the actual implementation of Obama Care, which will devalue our way of life, drive doctors out of the business, bankrupt insurance companies, and cause skyrocketing premiums?

How about the complete collapse of our economy, which will likely result in unprecented skyrocketing inflation rates and quite possibly a depression that we have never ever seen the likes of?

What about the complete disregard of any and all pro-life protections - babies, the elderly (euthanasia - they won’t be needed anymore?

How about the removal of any moral values for our country at all?

How about World War III in the Middle East, the annihiliation of Israel, and a nuclear holocaust there as well, with the fear of dirty bombs in this country?

How about the removal of all our rights - free speech, freedom of religion, right to bear arms through Obama executive order fiats?

How about the replacement of our conservative judges with ultra liberal anti-Constitutionalists?

How about a Communistic-style of government that will lead us to the point of no return?

Your no vote is a vote for Communism. Congratulations on your “principled” approach. And you’re doing that to teach the party “a lesson”? There won’t be a 2016 election to turn to, after Obama gets done.

You and others like you have no genuine concern or accountability for our country at all.

I disagree. Obama has been imposing his will on the American people without going thru congress. I figure that will continue even if we take a majority in both the house and senate. There is also the problem of SC judges wanting to retire. I like my chances with Romney a lot better.

As for the crack about his religion ,not cool.

You do understand what tipping point means right?

If we are past it (and I’m pretty sure we are), then I expect things to get worse. The question is how fast and how does it play out.

Romney will do nothing about the deficit, we already know that.

Romney is pro-choice, and ushered in gay marriage in MA, so who knows what’s going to happen there. repeal gays in the military? Romney? Ha.

Romneycare will repeal Obamacare? Pull the other one.

Economy collapse is already built-in. Neither president can do anything about it. Way too late to grow our way out.

Moral values are not instilled by the president, so that’s not a reason.

Foreign policy is on rails. D or R, we get the same, as we’ve observed. Romney should be a touch more competent at it. Maybe.

Communism? We have a centrally planned economy with the Fed at the controls screwing all savers out of any interest income and doing their damnedest to create inflation. Maybe I wasn’t paying attention to the speech where Romney promised to abolish the Fed.

So anyway, good luck to you with your RINO election. You may get lucky and TPTB decide that they’d rather have Romney than Obama and engineer a stock market crash in October.

Otherwise we’ll try again in 2016, and you all can huff and puff that you want a conservative nominee, and the GOP elite will ignore you again (cuz they know all you do is talk).

I'm not the one needing good luck. I'm not the one trying to win a GOP presidency for the most liberal GOP politician in decades.

Love ideologues like you and your 'all or nothing' attitude. With this election, you wanted it all, risk getting Obama and will end up with nothing.

The nothing you will end up with is not that empty feeling at Christmas when you didn't get what you wanted.

This nothing, Obama, is more like a black hole in space that has no soul and devours everything.

Good luck with that.

“I like my chances with Romney a lot better.”

I think you are naive. You will get the same kind of bad picks he made in Mass. Of course, we know Obama’s picks are bad.

I have a will continue to make both “cracks” and “serious” comments about Romney’s mormon cult. It defines the man, and is fair game. I personnally don’t want the Salt Lake City Mormon mafia setting up shop in the Oval Office anymore than I want to keep Obama’s pro-Islamist views.

Both guys are seriously flawed. Like I keep saying. There is NO lesser of two evils here. Folks may think they will get relief from Obama by Romney, but after a year they will have buyer’s remorse. I won’t support him in an election. IF Romney does get elected, I really don’t expect him to do anything except cause conservatism to really take a nose dive. Conservatives WILL NOT be able to wash his “stink” off us, and it will cost us the whole ball of wax (Senate, House, & POTUS) in 2014 and 2016. Then we will have a Hillary to contend with, and she isn’t as stupid as Obama.

However, if we love our country, if we care about liberty, if we care about the unborn and the elderly, if we care about the freedom of religion, if we care about the freedom of speech, if we care about our children having a future, than we MUST vote so that OBAMA is NOT re-elected. Maybe there is, hell I expected that Romney would win anyway based on the economy. There’s no way in hell that Obama deserves to win, conservative discontent notwithstanding.

-But the media is covering up how bad the economy is, if Romney wins the media will suddenly discover we are in a depression.

-And Romney is a horrible candidate optically. I mean really GOP, a Wall Street guy? A WALL STREET GUY!?! Geez.

But maybe Romney can convince his GS and Banker buddies to throw a market crash in October in return for some wink-wink-nod-nod stuff.

And then we can all breathe a sigh of relief that the Republic is saved for all time.

Normally that is the case but some of the similarities here are very eary and so I think the analogy is apropo. Similarities, (1) Hitler built a personality cult - Obama is building a personality cult. (2) Hitler controlled the media so that he could define truth - Obama is more and more controlling the media. (3) Hitler gradually subverted the German Constitution and illegally accumulated more and more power in his own hands - Obama is subverting the American constitution and accumulating more and more power in his hands. 4. Hitler did not respect the lives of the unborn and the infirm - Obama does not respect the lives of the unborn and infirm. 5. Hitler devided the people and turned them against certain groups (like the jews) that he scapegoated and blamed for Germany’s economic collapse - Obama is turning the poor against the middle class (which he calls the rich) and is blaming them for America’s economic problems. Obviously I don’t know his end game but the starting positions are earily similar.

cults - Romney is currently in and has contributed much $$$ to propagation of the same.

media - nothing has changed since Nixon in this regard.

The constitution died in 1933. No one bothered to tell you I guess.

So I guess Romney is now the savior of the aborted? News to many of them unfortunate enough to be conceived in MA.

Hitler was smart, evil, and had a great stump speech. Obama can sometimes give a decent stump and may be evil, but you know he’d rather be golfing.

mean? We had NO “optically” good conservatve candidate.
They were all either posers or GOP lite ala Romney.

Wall Street? I’m not so sure that Romney fits that category.
He is a businessman. If you are going to hire a person to
help put money in your pocket do you want a community
organizer or a businessman (even from Wall St) on your
payroll?

I’ll get one thing that I wouldn’t get with a Romney win... A crack at a real conservative in 2016.

We won't make it 2016 with another 4 years of Obama.

Consider this.

Obama wins the November election. Republicans strengthen their positions in the House and Senate setting up gridlock. The media has two years to blame Republicans for everything down to toenail fungus.

The zombies, a.k.a. American electorate, get tired and bounce the Republicans out of the House and Senate.

Obama has the final two years of his lame duck presidency to completely destroy what is left of America.

Check...and mate.
