When “leaners” are factored in, the president leads Romney 48% to 47%. Leaners are those who are initially uncommitted to the two leading candidates but lean towards one of them when asked a follow-up question.

9-28-12

Factor this in with the big lead Romney has with indys and it is Romneys to lose.

“The problem is that Romney seems nowhere whatsoever.
Even Palin was far more visible than Ryan.”

That’s because the media thought they could easily make fun of Palin, and giving her wide exposure would hurt McCain with swing voters.

Ryan’s much harder for them to caricature, so they try to ignore him instead.

All this “visibilty” stuff is totally MSM driven. Even if Romney is giving great speeches in front of big rallies, people don’t SEE them.

And? We all knew that from day 1 and if Romney did not understand the mnedia was going to do this and go all in for O-thug than its even worse than i think.

Romney is running an awful campaign. I will vote for him like my life depends on it, but please - the media is not the only reason he is behind.

Whoever is running his campaign is doing him a huge disservice w this panzie A$$ approach.

I'm sorry to disappoint you, but neither Rick Santorum nor Newt Gingrich would have been a winning GOP candidate. Santorum comes across as a decent guy but wouldn't even be able to win his own state. And Gingrich just crawled out from under a rock after almost 15 years out of politics to run in the GOP primary this year. It turns out he spent most of those 15 years working as a hack Beltway lobbyist, which means he is part of the problem and therefore would be an abysmal candidate.

In the immortal words of one wag from Don Imus' radio show: "Jerry Sandusky will be a special guest on Sesame Street before Newt Gingrich is ever elected president."

It is what Romney is not doing. Ads for obama are saturating the cable and satellite channels... Romney is not even present.

This is a robo call poll not an actual poll .
These polls are useless in the age where no one has a landline anymore and cell phone blocking is the norm.

Who is Ras connecting with using robo calling ?
A very skewed demographic which is heavily poor and Dem.

I keep hearing the pundits and pollster guessing the turnout will be like 2008 or 2004 or something else?
Polls based on a guess are useless.

2012 is like nothing else thanks to cell phones

If someone can verify something I saw a few weeks ago I’d appreciate it. Rasmussen himself gave a statistic that really nullifies this poll, and decimates the other highly skewed polls: Voter Registration at the end of August this year has a clear Republican advantage of 4%. I’d read that in 2010 the Republican advantage was 1.3% and it was pure devastation for Democrats at every level - national and state. If that 4% advantage to Republicans in party voter registration is true, then none of these polls showing anything like an Obama advantage can be taken too seriously.

“Sadly, that maybe the reason for it... Not much hope when media is so corrupt.”

ESPN’s college football pregame show is at Michigan State today. When they went around the table introducing the commentators, they came to former University of Michigan player Desmond Howard. He was roundly booed by the MSU fans. He then said something to the effect of: “I feel like Romney at a 47% rally!” Hey Desmond Howard and ESPN FU!!! How about making a crack about your butt-boy Obama?? I am so sick of this bullshit! You can’t even watch college football without this bias being evident. If Obama wins this election there needs to be some consequences for these biased a-holes who are openly covering and campaigning for him in the media! Once again let me say a big FU to that black racist Desmond Howard and ESPN! This bullshit needs to end!

I think all the stupid talk, even by GOP idiots, about the “inevitability” of Obama’s win, or how “badly” Romney is doing in polls becomes self-fulfilling at some point.

Yep. I had two conversations with well-informed GOP voters yesterday and both were saying 'not looking good for Mitt'. The psychops works. Either Romney comes out with a real strong push and good debate performance this week, or it may become inevitable over the next couple weeks. Right now, it seems like Romney's campaign is just rolling over. I still can't imagine this is their whole game plan, but the clock is ticking.

Rasmussen repolls at the end of each month to see where party affiliation stands. Last month he measured the largest lead for Republicans ever, which might help explain why his numbers have been so different this whole month than everyone elses. But if he is already starting the next party affiliation poll that he will use through October, then it might already be starting to show in the results of the daily.

The spinning of the 47% remark has not really been answered by Romney and I believe caused a few points of drift towards the Serial Liar-In-Chief. At the first debate, Romney will get the opportunity to speak unfiltered to the voters regarding that comment and gain back a few of those points. It will happen.

I think we are in good shape being tied with a much stronger turnout in the works.

“As far as we know, Raz is using a D+2 Party ID weighting and a R+4 lead for Romney with independents. Without doing the math and assuming that the Dem voters vote D in the same proportion as GOP voters vote R, one would expect the average Obama lead in his polls to be between 1 and 2 percent.”

You can’t pinpoint the Rasmussen weighting like that — what has been revealed by Rasmussen in this past June’s weighting was that Rasmussen had Dems+3 to Dems+14 range over the monthn of June (not any days with a Repub higher weighting) with the weighting changing daily over the 30 day period. Can’t tell you how Rasmussen decides this, but there it is....

I’ve been saying the same thing for several years now. But obviously nobody pays any attention to me!

Anyway, the dominant media — esp. USA Today — pulled off a major psyops coup back in 2004 (I think that was the year) when all of a sudden, they reversed the traditional colors on their electoral maps.

Therefore, it seems now that our youngsters are being shielded from the the truth, i.e., that most Dhimmis are old-fashionned “ideological Reds” — with the remainder being what we used to call “Pinkos.”

Response rates to pollsters are at all time lows: around 9%. I question whether ANY pollsters, even Rasmussen, are getting an accurate picture with that low a response rate of what the electorate that shows up at the polls this year is actually going to do. It will be very interesting.

In that regard, I believe (actually hope) that Obama's support is a mile wide and an inch deep and based largely on the negative image of Romney that Obama and the media have created. If that is true, Romney still has time, especially in the debates, to reverse that image. Also, if your primary motivation for voting is a sense of disquiet or distrust regarding Romney are you as likely to vote as the millions of folks who desparately fear another four years of Obama?

I am actually more concerned about the Senate. If we lose Maine and hold Nevada and Massachusetts, we need four for a tie and five for a majority. Where will those seats come from? In order of probable liklihood: Nebraska, Montana, North Dakota, Virginia, Wisconsin, Missouri, Ohio, Florida and Pennsylvania. Can it be done? Certainly. Might I humbly suggest that Ryan spend some time campaigning with the Republican Senate candidates in Virginia, Wisconsin, Ohio, Florida, and Pennsylvania?

"Hard to believe Obama lost so little from 08. Astounding really."

Four years of media propaganda trumpeting "why put the people who got us in the mess we are in back in office" is allowing Obama and the rats to frame the debate and put Romney on the defensive from the start. It is really not astounding given that Romney does not seem to have the stomach to go on attack.

As the march to inevitability continues, the question will become can the GOP minimize losses in the Senate and hold on to control of the House.

My take:

NE — ‘Pub win

MT — ditto

ND — ditto

VA — too close to call

WI — ditto

MO — Dhimmi win

OH — ditto

FL — ditto

PA — ditto

Conclusion: 50% chance for a tie, with only a 25% chance for a GOP takeover. So if Romney loses, then Biden probably casts the deciding vote in the Senate, meaning that if Scalia or Kennedy dies or retires before the 2016 election, bye-bye 2nd Amendment.

You may believe that sincerely, but you have absolutely no evidence to support that statement. I'm not even a Mitt Romney fan, but it was obvious to me that Newt Gingrich is nothing more than an inside-the-Beltway @sshole who has absolutely no credentials, executive experience or any other attributes that would indicate any competency in the White House.

The guy couldn't even see his roles in his two biggest Federal positions to completion -- having stepped down as House Speaker in 1998 before resigning from his House seat in 1999. For this guy to crawl out from the swamp of Washington D.C. 13 years later and present himself as a credible presidential candidate was a complete joke.

I hate to be the one to break this to you, but a lot of these people (I'll even include Rick Santorum in the mix) see the Federal government as an enormous industry, and they make careers out of lobbying Congress and occasionally launching a pointless "political campaign" for the sole purpose of promoting themselves and living at the expense of campaign donors for months at a time.

Say what you want about Romney, but you'd have a hard time including him in that group of hacks.
