1 million Ohioans using free phone program
Dayton Daily News ^ | September 2012 | Josh Sweigart

A program that provides subsidized phone service to low-income individuals has nearly doubled in size in Ohio in the past year — now covering more than a million people. At the same time, federal officials say they’re reining in waste, fraud and abuse in the program.

The Federal Communications Commission announced recently that reforms have saved $43 million since January and are expected to save $200 million by year’s end. In Ohio, savings are expected to be $2.9 million a year.

The savings were realized in part because the government gave out fewer cellphones to ineligible people and took steps to avoid issuing duplicate phones.

But the size of the program in the state — and profits to the increasing number of cellphone companies involved — has exploded in recent months, according to a Dayton Daily News analysis of program data.

The program in Ohio cost $26.9 million in the first quarter of 2012, the most recent data available, versus $15.6 million in the same timeframe in 2011. Compared to the first quarter of 2011, the number of people in the program nearly doubled to more than a million.

There is a way to end the free phones for parasite program.

Well, as long as we would all be willing to cancel our current cellphone service. They pay for this by adding a tax to your bill.

No bill? No cash for morons.

I don’t think so. I only say that because of some comments they make. They are NOT happy.

However, I never take that time to blame barry. Some of the comments I just overhear.

It’s called a political bribe in return for a vote for
Obama. And it’s going to work.

Well yeah! Look at the emergencies she must have every month:

She runs out of drugs, has to get her nails done and extensions in her hair, needs to call all her babydaddies to tell ‘em she’s out of pampers, etc.....

The video is now over 2 million hits.

The comments section is disabled. Heh, heh!

Remember “Obama Is Going To Pay For My Gas And Mortgage!!!”?

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P36x8rTb3jI

It’s only at 3.5 million hits. I think “Phone uh, Lady” is going to crush that soon.

Going on 2.5 million hits on YouTube.

The woman is disgusting. Loud, selfish, greedy, covetous, crass, obnoxious, entitled, falsely self-righteous, and deluded.

In other words, a perfect Democrat.

Unless your phone system is two tin cans and a long string, you probably are paying part of the bill as well. Mittbot or not.

But the Mittbots are impure Fur Shur ~ no way you can avoid that Obamugabe taint ~ he's got his peeps everywhere ~ which could have been stopped if the Republicans had eliminated that special universal phone tax when they had control of the presidency, house and senate.

This is why we need real Conservatives at the top ~ they instinctively sniff out these taxes and crush them. You can't count on MIttbots or other GOP-e to do that, so there you have it, Obamugabe bought a million votes in Ohio with their money.

Bribes.

It's more than bribes. How many GOTV calls to these phones do you think the Obama campaign will make in the runup to election day? Also, don't forget someone is providing the cell service. Who do you think got that contract? Maybe an Obama donator?

If Obama were to win, do these people think they the phone service would continue? The phones will shut down the minute he no longer needs them.

I already know this. So I have purchased a “Pay as You Go” Phone plan. I only pay $50 per month plus tax. For unlimited voice/text and data at 4g speeds up until 100meg.

With the gain of the antenna, 2 Watts to the brain is probably the theoretical peak legal limit, depending on distance from the cell tower and how shielded you are (in a basement or behind a building) and how much you talk-vs-listen. Go for it you sweet-talkin’ Obamacons....I’ll bet you’re hopin’ they’re not those cheap, out-of-spec, phones too.

...federal officials say they’re reining in waste, fraud and abuse in the program.

The whole program is waste, fraud, and abuse. It's nothing but a vote-buying scheme like most other welfare programs.
