U.S. Said to Be Preparing Potential Targets Tied to Libya Attack
New York Times ^ | October 2, 2012 | Eric Schmitt

WASHINGTON — The American military’s top-secret Joint Special Operations Command is preparing detailed information that could be used to kill or capture some of the militants suspected in the attack last month in Libya that killed Ambassador J. Christopher Stevens and

Preparing the “target packages” is the first step in a process that the Pentagon and Central Intelligence Agency are taking in preparation for, and in advance of, any orders from President Obama and his top civilian and military advisers to carry out action against those determined complicit in the attack on the United States Mission in the eastern Libyan city of Benghazi.

Mr. Obama, whose administration has faced criticism from both Republicans and Democrats over a possible intelligence failure before the Benghazi attack, has vowed that he would bring the killers of Mr. Stevens and the three other Americans to justice, but he and his top advisers have not indicated how that might happen.

Mr. Obama has a range of options available — including drone strikes, Special Operations raids like the one that killed Osama bin Laden; and joint missions with the Libyan authorities — but all carry substantial political, diplomatic and physical risks. Administration officials say no decisions have been made on any potential targets.

The Joint Special Operations Command, which includes the Navy SEAL team that killed Bin Laden, works continuously with the C.I.A. to update several lists of potential terrorist targets around the world.

Since the attack on the diplomatic mission and a nearby annex in Benghazi on the night of Sept. 11, American officials say that Special Operations planners have sharply increased their efforts to track the location and gather information on several members of Ansar al-Shariah as well as other militants with ties to Al Qaeda’s arm in North Africa — Al Qaeda

This is how Obama seals his election victory, and mutes Romney’s attacks: by appearing decisive and bombing an aspirin factory somewhere (does it really matter where?) as Clinton did.

Well, I guess they’re going to be trying to take out Libya YouTube central since YouTube is partly responsible for conveying this video to the Middle-East, and we all know Obama still thinks the video was the real cause of all this.

Wag The Dog Flashback....

August 17-Late August 1998: President Clinton Criticized for Using Missile Strike on Al-Qaeda as Distraction from Personal Sex Scandal

Clinton said he had "convincing" intelligence that bin Laden's terrorist network was behind the embassy bombings. And he accused groups tied to bin Laden of a host of murderous attacks and foiled plots like killing international peacekeepers in Somalia and planning to assassinate the Pope.

But while the Republican leadership rallied to support the raids, some members of Congress reacted suspiciously, noting that the action followed by three days Clinton's acknowledgment to the public and a grand jury of his relationship with former intern Monica Lewinsky.

When Clinton's motorcade abruptly left the borrowed estate where he was secluded with his wife and daughter, reporters and photographers who were idling at the entrance assumed that he was going to play golf. Instead Clinton made a brief dramatic appearance to announce the strikes. Clinton flew to Washington for his Oval Office address as Ms. Lewinsky was testifying for a second time before the grand jury here.

This just in... targets include sites in California. Hardest hit will be the filming locations, casting, the building where editing was performed...

Administration: Uhh, no, we did NOT do nothing after our diplomat was murdered, we, umm, formed a committee nearly a month after the fact to suggest targets for any retribution...

State Department: We told you these morons were worse than Quadaffi.

CIA: The people we were working with all fled to France with billions.

Pentagon: We were ready within an hour after word of the attack took place to put ordinance on any spot anywhere in the country.

Man, no wonder Jimmy Carter's smiling so big these days. Someone finally topped every bonehead mistake he ever made.

He can bomb away. That won’t change anything because we still have 4 bodies and no answers as to why the Ambassador didn’t have the security he asked for.
