Allen West: Obama is doing well in the polls because his failures aren’t being articulated well
The Right Scoop ^ | October 2nd, 2012 | The Right Scoop via Fox News

Allen West weighs in on the new 2007 video, mostly saying that he doesn’t believe it is of as much consequence as Benghazi-gate, ballots not getting to our troops overseas, the debt, etc. Those are the things he’s concerned about.

When asked why Obama is doing so well in the polls, he says simply that everyone keeps saying Obama’s policies have failed, but they aren’t articulating why. Which is what he says Romney needs to do.

“First of all, having been born and raised down in Georgia, I’m very surprised at the incredible southern accent that the president, who was born in Hawaii and grew up in Chicago, was able to command,”

LOL!

And as long as the dominant message from Mitt Romney is, "I'm sure he's a nice guy, he just hasn't done very well." then things will stay pretty much the same.

In seeking to persuade the 4-6% of so-called moderate independent votes, Romney may very well be alienating twice that many from his base, in which case the numbers will simply not add up on election day. Tonight is the biggest test.

It is time to put up or shut up Mitt.

Everyone wants to tell Romney what he should do, no one seems to get that a press outlet isn’t where you give your advice.

I think it is that most people do not like change (good or bad). It makes people very nervous to have any sort of change in their lives. Why do you think people stay at jobs they hate for 40 years even knowing there are better jobs out there. People hate change is why Obama is doing as well as he is.

And they have bought into the lie that no one could of done better and that all this was somehow Bush’s fault.

Never mind that Bush couldn’t have destroyed the whole worlds economy even if he had tried. You can’t talk sense to these people, 80% of them are like that free Obama phone girl, blinded by their racism and stupidity.

I hope Romney hammers Obama on NOT HAVING A BUDGET the entire time in office and drilling down that a budget is a blueprint of how to spend dollars wisely. Emphasizing Obama’s irresponsibility with the economy needs to be repeated with examples of his reckless spending.

Allen is great of course but he misses the point, it is not that no one is voicing his failures, it is no one cares to listen or even if they do listen, they still don’t care.

BTW, the GOPE has done all they can to get Allen out of office by redistricting him out of a job in Florida. While he is closer in the polls then I would have expected, he is still behind in a very dem district now. See, Allen is not a team player, so the team decided to not give him a uniform.

I agree. That's true.

On the same token the press outlet is not where you should be announcing your strategy changes such as no longer "attacking" Obama's job record and instead focusing on what you would do as President or announcing that you're going to carpet bomb this swing state and that swing state with advertisements right after the convention and this issue will no longer be part of the campaign and instead you're going to try to show the American people that you actually do have foreign policy knowledge or when you tell the media that the campaign is now going to shift gears and you will now show the American people that you are as normal as the rest of them and despite being so rich you too have feelings, a heart and understand what the jobless Americans must be going through.

All of the above is much more damaging than Allen West expressing his own opinions as to why Mitt Romney is still reportedly under 50%. It's plain stupid for the Romney campaign to come out and give the enemy the game plan.

The Romneybots refused to listen to constructive criticism from day one. Discounted every bit of bad news (which has pretty much dominated the Romney campaign since just before the convention.

When you refuse to listen, the man you support makes no changes.

When the man you support makes no changes, he remains under 50% and the talking heads from our side need to give their advice in public. Next the BIG donors ususually start running to the congressional candidates with their money some actually go to the opponent.

I’m far from impressed with the Romney campaign. It’s time to stop with the thinking you can beat Obama simply by not being Obama.

Yes, but many within that 47% are lazy bums who do not vote.

preach to the choir? haa. true for FR.

I wrote TO the Mittens campaign and told them to step it up. There IS something going on here, though. “Give them enough rope to hang themselves” IS playing out but the MSM is covering it up. I congratulate FOX’s Katherine Herridge on her EXCELLENT coverage of the Libya situation. Her reporting is OUTSTANDING.

Write to the campaign directly! Write letters to the editors of ALL your papers - just DO IT folks - we need to get the word out. Talk to everyone you meet to get them to vote. Talked to a nice fellow at a restaurant last night who hadn't voted since Reagan and can't stand bammy, but didn't know if he would vote at all. I think my husband and I convinced him to GET OUT and vote and take some family members, too. He was pretty fired up after we spoke for a few minutes. DO that - you'd be surprised at the results. If WE don't do something, then blame ourselves.

Bingo, many here just want to use FR to emote frustration and be armchair political consultants, whose whole strategy is to call Obama a liar and go after him with some amorphous venom. Americans have never responded to ranting and raving at someone, they like someone to be destroyed with facts and a humorous and witty tongue. But then again we have "Retired Postal Workers" here who know everything. I like your specifics.

The main point is Obama had a democratic majority in both the house & senate up until 2010 and even with the deck stacked in his favor, he did not pass a budget.
Obama’s 2 signature achievements, Obamacare majority of U.S. Citizens disapprove & proclaiming the killing of OBL (which has riled the radicals) = abject failure!

the humorous and witty tongue could be used 24/7 on the bambam, combined with the *fact* that bambam is a serial liar, and can be done brutally, and without remorse *if* the opposition were actually opposing him...

being afraid of being called racist, or worse yet, telling the world that bambam is just a naive politician who isnt up to the task, is capitulation and/or co-conspiracy to defraud the citizenry...

cool thing about Allen West is that he can mostly avoid the 'racist' trap, and hammer away...

LOL, which is why many are here. Good a place as any I suppose.

The problem becomes when they fantasize that R2 can just call O a liar and a traitor and a foreigner on TV and suddenly that mass of hidden (since 1984 apparently) voters will come out and elect them in a landslide.

Then of course R2 doesnt do any of that stuff.

Then they complain that R2 would have won if only they fought back. As with Mccain..As with Bush...and...

Oh and that evil MSM that R2 KEEPs doing interviews with. Oh, they are so evil. (then why is R2 spending so much time with them?)

Alternatively, I like to read realistic ideas for beating Obama, and toss a few out myself. How about nailing him on real things he did?
