Skip to comments.Obama’s Debate Strategy: Unilateral Disarmament?(It's official, they are turning on Obama

Well, Im with all the other talking heads: Mitt Romney won this debate. Barack Obama lost it. I mean, he got his butt kicked. It was, in fact, one of the most inept performances Ive ever seen by a sitting President.
But I must admit, once again, to being mystified: Did the President send out his body double tonight? Because if that was the actual Barack Obama out there, Im not sure he can communicate well enough to be an effective President in a time of trouble, to say nothing of winning a second term.

Mitt drew blood tonight and the Lib sharks won’t be able to resist.
Romney got under his skin.
Obama was fuming and lost his cool.
his campaign will go on full smear mode starting tomorrow. Expect to see more Joe Soptics by the time Sunday rolls around.
I noticed a lot of “fact checking” being done on Romney..
that means one thing: the flak chuckers protecting Obama are going to be up all night trying to destroy Romney.
Bo must be terrified that when Obummer gets back to the White House he’ll want some comfort food...
Joe Klein’s last paragraph is just EPIC.
I don’t think Mitt drew blood.
Obama walked into the debate bleeding.
He was awful.
It was good to see the petulant little rat squirm.
Boy, I don’t even get the media. Obama has never been a great debater. He does (did?) give good speeches, I’ll give him that.
Maybe if the media had asked this man tough (but fair) questions over the last four years, he’d have been better prepared.

And who, pray tell, is “Joe Kline”?
Thanks for maintaining the reputation of this forum as a place for illiterates and people who offend others by misspelling their names.
Looks like four years of indefensable failures, being an idiot with no ability to talk without a teleprompter and an opponent who calls him on his lies all caught up with Obama tonight.
Liberals looking at the Debate tonight had the same experience Roddy Rowdy Piper's character had in the Movie “They Live” when he put on the magic Sunglasses.
Why is anybody surprised? There was NO TELEPROMPTERS allowed!!
Sorry, up past bed time and finding FR difficult to work with tonight. I do know better about Mr. Klein because his son was a friend of my son.
Obama better put some ice on that!!!
What about the OBAMAPHONE lady-babe ? is she jumping ship too ?
“Why is anybody surprised? There was NO TELEPROMPTERS allowed!!”
Exactly and no msm to cover for him. The empty chair fits him perfectly.
Well, sorry to be so rude, I tend to jump at such things.
It was almost too easy for romney, smells like a trap. Now the libs and the MSM know what they’re up against, and can plan accordingly. Next debate, romney will need to throw them a curveball, and keep them guessing. Or I could be wrong and obama really is that much of an idiot. It’s not obama I’m worried about, it’s his handlers’ response that has me wondering what the next move will be.
I love watching libs eat their own, its just so darn awesome
Well, I hope Romney’s success matters. I missed the show this evening (back to school night), but I remember when Bush 43 did lousy and you could tell he couldn’t wait to be somewhere else. That didn’t cost him the election.
So, do you think Obama choked badly enough to start him on the road to Hawaii?
Not a good night to be in the Obama household. Probably will be a few punched holes in the walls of our house at 1600 Penn.
That's easy: An attack on Libya.
Romney destroyed Obama!
That was an absurd article. You’ll see a lot of liberals saying, “Why didn’t he come back with so and so?” The answer, my idiotic liberal friends, is that the arguments, like those outlined in this article, are bullshit. And Romney wasn’t about to put up with no bullshit.
As another FReeper eloquently stated on a recent thread, say goodbye
to a Libyan aspirin factory tomorrow.
I remember that night, too but this is different. Kerry was a poser: a total fake and the American people saw through it. Tonight, the American people saw through BHO, too. Big difference!
They’re funny - they can’t understand that this is what Obama’s been all along - they deluded themselves into thinking he was a great thinker and orator, but as soon as someone stood toe to toe with him and answered back, it became obvious what he really is - only ten minutes into the debate my wife came to - “I thought he was a better speaker than that”, she said - my daughter and I quickly corrected her with “only when he’s on a teleprompter” - as someone in Frank Lutz’s focus group said - “we had style versus substance - for rour years we’ve had style, now we need some substance”......
Fast & Furious, too.
"It was, in fact,
one of the most inept performance s Ive ever seen by a sitting pResident."
EXACTLY, empty suit is lost without them!
May be he was looking at Axelrod in the audience doing hand signals?
With what's been going on in the world and our economy he should have forgotten the fund raising and campaigning. If he would have done so his poll numbers would have been higher.
Seriously, what did we expect? What can he say for himself, for his policies, for his administration? This is a demagogue like an Erich Honacker, or a Janos Kadar. Haven’t we known it for 4 years?
Fast and furious too. On another note, I wonder what Mccain is thinking now that he saw someone own Obama.
Rush is exactly right. Obama is basically a lazy dude. Comes from years spent on Hawaiian beaches smoking weed and God knows what else. Odumbo much rather have parties in WH, mingle with the Hollywood crowd and play golf on all the elite private courses. Actually I like anyone who is an avid golfer, so I like that one thing about Odumbo.
Reminds me of of the last scene in “Being There”...only he’s finally not walking on water any more.
I have never thought Obama gave good speeches. Mediocre at best, the media just fawns over him so much they define them as good.
The MSM was in melt down after the debate. As my husband put it, they were wetting their pants. Eliot Spitzer said that, that wasn’t the guy that we wanted to put out there to vote for, that he didn’t even try to counter the $713 billion in medicare cuts.
