Obama's Rope-a-Dope?
Original Content | 10/04/12 | Jdsteel

President Obama may not be as skilled an orator as he is thought to be by the media, but he is not as inept as he came across in the first debate. I believe he purposefully stumbled. The stammering, the lack of focus, at one point bumping the microphone were in my opinion a carefully constructed act. I believe he is trying to set the stage for a knock-out punch to his opponent in the next debate. From now until then the media will focus on Obama and his need to have a strong showing. If I am right the question is will Romney be prepared?

I believe historically TV ratings for the first debate are always highest of the three debates.

This year that might not hold as Americans tune in to see if Obama fails again. Like looking at a car accident.

Romney better be ready, next time Obama will attack and throw the kitchen sink at Romney. Also, the VP debate has potential catastrophe for the Dems with gaffe-o-matic Biden.

hmmm...perhaps he is smart.

However:

-His task was to defend socialist and divisive policies without appearing either socialist or divisive.

-His task was to defend failing policies that have poor results, without a doubt. Trust me - more of the same will yield good results, not the bad results we have achieved so far. That dog won’t hunt.

No matter how smart he is, these points are indefensible.

I think that you always bought the argument that Obama is so brilliant. He really isn’t. He just was without his teleprompter.

Think about it, he is never too bright when he has to answer questions off the cuff.

The reason is he is a total ideologue who only sees the world by what he wants to believe rather than the way it really is.

<<...I believe he purposefully stumbled...>>

Rope-a-Dope only works if the fighter using the tactic is a REAL champion with a proven record. Muhammad Ali won Olympic Gold, had a 56-5 record with 37 KO’s, and considered one of the greatest boxers in history because of his performance in the ring.

Obama has no record of success in anything — ever. He’s a catastrophic failure.

You aren’t the only person thinking along those lines. During my years in military I was amazed by the ‘good old hayseeds’ that were underestimated and then out of nowhere delivered a knock out punch to those that differed with their position.

This is no time to let up. We (and especially Mitt) need to give 110% until the final buzzer.

Showing weakness to our enemies. I got it covered.. By the way I have an Acquaintence in France (Foreign Legion years ago), who said the French laugh at Obama and can't believe America is so stupid to put the jerk in office. I asked about the reports we get of his magnificence in our papers. He sent me news articles from Le Monde, magazines and other sources that verified everything he wrote. He said ‘You have no news reporters in America.”

I think you are wrong. Obama showed his worth against another articulate strong man who took the fight to Obama. The One is not used to that since he has been in office. He may have been more aggressive against McCain, but then look who he was fighting.

No, this first debate on the economy was probably the most important of the 3 debates. Obama got his hat handed to him plain and simple. Of course, his hard core followers will make their excuses for him, but when even the liberal Chris Matthews complains about his lackluster performance, it's clear he was out gunned. He just plain failed when confronting a man of strength. Hopefully, Obama doesn't learn and will seem just as weak in the next 2 debates.

Plus, Paul Ryan will wipe the floor with Joe Biden.

Instead of “rope-a-dope”, nobama’s apparent strategy was “I’m a dope”. It worked.

At best, the Chicago handlers will up Barry’s ADHD meds next time and blackmail the debate moderator into cutting off Romney’s mike

Last night was great. I’m ready for four more weeks of shock and awe.

Loved how Mitt would detail Point 1 Point 2 Point 3 Point 4 and Point 5. Effective. Instead of O’s rambling and grandmother and mother stories.

Also Mitt’s closing was excellent.

I think the powers that be told him he is gone. He has outlived his usefulness. Go to Hawaii and disappear from public view...or else.

He had nothing to gain by blowing it when he had the entire press on his side all but saying he won the election. If he had done a decent job, the press would have wet themselves with joy.

And they would have proclaimed "The election is over"

Fortunately with people actually seeing Obama the press couldn't do the usual BS Snow Job and retain any credibility

-- I can't be the only person thinking this throughout the debate. --

I'm sure you weren't. And while I think you and the others who speculate that Obama did poorly on purpose, setting the stage for a later knockout, are mistaken, there is no way to argue the case.

If you are right, Obama will shine in a later debate.

If Obama was in the WWE his name would be “Train Wreck”.

“He’s debating foreign policy next, you know his policies of destroying our allies, showing weakness to our enemies and arming/fighting FOR terrorists to get them in power. What could go wrong for him? Get a grip.”

No he isn’t. The next debate is a town hall style one on all topics. It’s the last debate in Florida that is about foreign policy. Oct. 16th is the town hall debate, and the VP debate comes a few days before, on Oct. 11th. So the next debate we will see will be the VP debate, followed by the town hall style debate, and then the last debate on foreign policy.

The Ødious pathological narcissist in chief was utterly slaughtered last night, but your (preposterous) theory will likely emerge as the Dhims main rationalization point this weekend.

Nothin' personal, but the maggot really IS - and always has been - an empty chair/suit/soul.
