WASHINGTON (AP) -- America's top military officer is opposing the demotion of a four-star general for lavish travel and other expenses in a case that has been sitting on Defense Secretary Leon Panetta's desk for weeks... Army Gen. Martin Dempsey, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, believe that Gen. William Ward, (who claims a place in history as first) commander of Africa Command, should retire at his full four-star general.

Gen. William "Kip" Ward has been under investigation for about 17 months, and Defense Secretary Leon Panetta is expected to make a final decision on the matter before the end of the month, according to several defense officials.

The defense officials said Ward is facing numerous allegations that he spent several hundred thousand dollars allowing unauthorized people, including family members, to fly on government planes, and spent excessive amounts of money on hotel rooms, transportation and other expenses when he traveled as head of Africa Command.

Yep, me too. Just something or other in the brief summary gave me the feeling that Gen. Ward might just be another brother, movin' on up with Eric Holder and Barack Obama.

After finishing the story, then looking Gen. Ward up on line satisfied me that his elitist "entitled" behavior of rooms at the Waldorf Astoria for him and staff, was warranted because he belonged to the club.

Defense Department inspector general's report concluded that Ward "engaged in multiple forms of misconduct related to official and unofficial travel... Ward billed the government for a refueling stop overnight in Bermuda, where the couple stayed in a $750 suite. Ward and his wife, accepted dinner and Broadway show tickets from a government contractor billing for lengthy stays at lavish hotels for Ward, his wife and his staff members, at the (NY) Waldorf Astoria hotel.

Ward used five-vehicle motorcades when he shuttled his wife to Washington area shopping trips and spas.

General William Ward

See where this pathetic whore Dempsey is coming from?
You would need the jaws of life to get Dempsey's tongue out of Ubama's anus.

Would Dempsey be so kind to a COL or a CPT who executed such fraud, waste, and abuse for his own personal gain? Not a bloody chance. This is simply the flag officer good ol’ boys club coming to the rescue.

It’s good to see that people like Wesley Clark, Stan McChrystal, and George Casey are not alone in their pursuit of idiocy, mass death at the altar of PC, and good old-fashioned double-standards.

Dempsey is a political operative for Obama. Would he be the type of General who would order troops to fire on Americans when Obama commands it?

Really? Because I worked with COL Kip Ward in Bele Dogle, Somalia, 1992-93, and was very impressed by him. Don’t know about his later activities as a general officer, but he was a damn fine Brigade Commander in the Tenth Mountain Division.

And if you’ve never passed out in a PT run at least once in the military, then you weren’t trying hard enough.

Retiring as a three-star would Ward's $236,650 a year in retirement pay to $208,802 a year.

Excuse Me $208,802 + Bennies!

Just googled the general. Was completely NOT surprised. The tip-off in the story was the line mentioning the “historic first”.

Let’s take a look:

- chastises SEALs for entering the political arena (in opposition to Obama) after leaving the military despite many other former military men doing the same to include Carter, Clark, and Eisenhower to name a few,
- fires a LTC due to political correctness despite the LTC’s career record showing the was an up-and-comer potential future general,
- protects the post retirement benefits of a black general that violated the trust placed in him to be a good steward of taxpayer dollars and may I opine this is probably not the first and only misdeed he has committed since I doubt he would have just turned criminal after putting on stars.

I guess now we know why he’s there and who his godfather is; just look across the Potomac and past the Lincoln Memorial from the Pentagon to find his true master.

Shameful.

Do you have any doubt? Obama's Clown Posse has spent the last four years making sure that such people were recruited and promoted. It's one main reason for the active recruitment of gays in the military. Do you think that gay troops would have any fondness for bible-thumping Christian rednecks if it came down to it?

Well, I guess you can count me as not trying hard enough. Though I've made runs up Margarita Peak on Pendleton and hiked up Mt Fuji in Japan and did many other ball busting runs...

Made it through BUD/S Class 105 in 1979, then east coast frogs, never passed out on a run. Guess I didn’t try hard enough.

I have been reading about this Dempsey jerk for several months. He is totally despicable. He fits in very comfortable with the Kenyan bastard and the bastard’s clan. This is why he is #1 brass ass at the Pentagon.

And it would not surprise me if he is a homosexual.

If Dempsey thinks this is OK, I’d suggest that the IG look into his travel vouchers as well.

Ward used five-vehicle motorcades when he to shuttle his wife on Washington area shopping trips and spas.

Since he is so skilled at these motorcades shuttles, send him over top Afghanistan to run them.
