The Obamas have a well-documented relationship with Oprah, but now Mitt and Ann Romney have opened up to the chat show host for the first time.
The Republican power couple welcomed the media mogul into their roomy New Hampshire holiday home on Lake Winnipesaukee, to talk about family, religion, food and, of course, politics.
Casually dressed in jeans, with the top button of his shirt undone, the presidential nominee even took it upon himself to pack Ms Winfrey a doggie bag for the road, as they finished off in the kitchen.

According to what I read in The Amateur, Mooch gave Oprah the cold shoulder because she was sick of her influence with Barry, and Oprah fumed about it for a long time. So this is probably just Oprah trying to tick off the royal couple-—not about any real integrity on Oprah’s part.

I feel sorry for Oprah. For all her fame and fortune, for all her New Age “insight” and spirituality, she strikes me as a deeply unhappy woman struggling to fill a void. No husband, no kids, but she’s the expert in how modern people should live their lives. I don’t think she ever considered that she might one day be culturally irrelevant, and she has nothing to fall back on except what’s in the fridge.

Oprah is one of those libs I just can’t hate. I don’t know if it’s because she had her start in Baltimore (my home stomping grounds) or what... I know she’s an Obamugabe groupie, as many are — black or white — but even so, there seems to be enough genuine American “good” in her that I can’t completely throw her aside.
