This was no ordinary rubber chicken affair. That was my reaction to the extraordinary keynoter at Tuesdays Better Government Association annual luncheon.
Lara Logan, a correspondent for CBS 60 Minutes, delivered a provocative speech to about 1,100 influentials from government, politics, media, and the legal and corporate arenas. Such downtown gatherings are a regular on Chicagos networking circuit. (I am a member of the BGAs Civic Leadership Committee, and the Chicago Sun-Times was a sponsor).
Her ominous and frightening message was gleaned from years of covering our wars in the Middle East. She arrived in Chicago on the heels of her Sept. 30 report, The Longest War. It examined the Afghanistan conflict and exposed the perils that still confront America, 11 years after 9/11.

FR and I have been prepping the Rush show for years. ;)
70% of young men are not grown up by the age of 30,
up from 30% in 1960.
Indeed we have!
Old Muslim saying: “First, the Saturday people, then the Sunday people.”
"If there are two things that characterize Islamic culture, they are terrorism and inbreeding. The latest research shows that these two things might be closely connected . . . First cousin marriages have been the tradition in many Muslim families for innumerable generations. Such marriages increase the risk of negative mental and physical consequences . . . Risk of mental retardation increases with 400 percent (Proceedings of the National Academy of Science, 1978 Effect of inbreeding on IQ and mental retardation). Research shows that the IQ is 10-16 points lower in children born from blood related parents and that abilities related to social behavior and empathy develops slower in inbred babies (Indian National Science Academy, 1983 Consanguinity Effects on Intelligence Quotient and Neonatal Behaviours of nsari Muslim Children [pdf]). Such facts might make several pieces fall into place for many people . . . People with low intelligence (because of inbreeding) might also be easier to brainwash with fundamentalist Islam. "
Nothing is going change until Islamism (political Islam, sharia law) changes.. fat chance.
The newspaper employee Ms Washington said that? For a little levity? Sarcasm maybe? It's the MSM employees who spread the Washington b.s.
In the good old days all cities had multiple newspapers that presented the various biased views.
Today's MSM employees present their bias as objective and the only correct way to feeeeeeeeeeeel.
Now that we have modern talk radio and the Internet the good old days are back.. and the employees of the MSM are exposed as nothing more than skid marks on Journalism's shorts.
Funny how short the historical memory is in this country.
From the history I remember, journalism used to advocate all the time. Had a lot of different names such “yellow journalism” and “muckraking.” I seem to recall one newspaper publisher called the Spanish-American War, “his war.” They have been advocating a bunch since I was kid - remember “Uncle” Walter?
When did they ever NOT “advocate?” I’d be curious to know.
I think the light is slowly going on in peoples heads. I don’t think she intended the remark to be sarcastic.
I think it’s great that Lara thinks we should off the Islamist scum that raped her, I’m all for it.
What I think would be much more interesting is her take on the genocide of farmer and Boars in general in her home country of South Africa!
You remember, yes? That lovly little pet project the Libtards were so hot for years back! The communist animals that have taken over that country think you can cure AIDS by raping an infant! God save us from these demons! Both there and here!
I believe our embassies are considered sacrosanct and as being on American soil. Of course, nothing is inviolate to these uncivilized pigs.
You are incorrect. However, you are right in stating that to some people, no crime is too heinous.

Great point. The problem with modern liberalism is that doctrine often outweighs the recognition of evil.
I stand corrected, but not entirely. The link you provided states, “while an embassy remains the territory of the host state, under international rules, representatives of the host country may not enter an embassy without permissioneven to put out a fire.”
Therefore, our embassies represent our sovereignty, but not on our own soil, remaining the territory of the host state, but they do remain sacrosanct and inviolate. “Any attack on an embassy is considered an attack on the country it represents.”
