At Harvard Law School in 1991, Obama approved of restricting speech to protect minorities

At the height of early-1990s conservative backlash over political correctness and “speech codes” on U.S. college campuses, Barack Obama participated in a panel event geared toward denying that restrictions on free expression were problematic, or happening at all.

The 1991 Harvard Law School yearbook quoted the future President of the United States virtually shrugging his shoulders at the thought that non-liberal white students might take offense at restrictions on speech that minority students found objectionable. “I don’t see a lot of conservatives getting upset if minorities feel silenced,” Obama said, flipping the argument around.

“I don’t see a lot of conservatives getting upset if minorities feel silenced,” Obama said...

To Ubama, minorities are “silenced” when other people aren't forced to listen to them.

While I believe Obama might have said this, I am slightly incredulous because of the dirth of anything written, spoken, or even imparted third-hand regarding anything this incompetent affirmative-action puppet ever did during his tenure at Occidental, Columbia, or Harvard....

He apparently was at all of those places because 1) He is part black, 2) somebody other than his family arranged for or paid for the tuition, and 3)there are absolutely no examples of anything that he said, did or even thought during those times (of that period) put down in writing or recorded officially.

Stories, hearsay and conjecture about the postives. Much much more about the concerns about the truth.

“I don’t see a lot of conservatives getting upset if minorities feel silenced,” Obama said, flipping the argument around.”

And was he scathingly corrected by any “conservatives,” or were there none on the panel? Rolling over for this budding despot only gave him a sense of power and emboldened him to dream of conquering the USA.

Feeling silenced and being silenced are two different things, Jug Ears. Political correctness has been taken to the level of taking action against un-PC speech. Ask Imus.

Doh ! Wrong thread :(

On this thread, I do remember the P.C. movement of the early 1990’s and remembered reading about int even in the late 1980’s. In the ‘80’s, it was mostly on the East Coast.
