ABC News scrambles to cover up Barack Obama’s attendance at VP debate moderator’s wedding
The Daily Caller ^ | 10/10/2012

Barack Obama was a guest at the 1991 wedding of ABC senior foreign correspondent and vice presidential debate moderator Martha Raddatz, The Daily Caller has learned. Obama and groom Julius Genachowski, whom Obama would later tap to head the Federal Communications Commission, were Harvard Law School classmates at the time and members of the Harvard Law Review.

After TheDC made preliminary inquiries Monday to confirm Obama’s attendance at the wedding, ABC leaked a pre-emptive statement to liberal-leaning news outlets including Politico and The Daily Beast Tuesday, revealing what may have been internal network pressure felt just days before Raddatz was scheduled to moderate the one and only vice-presidential debate Thursday night.

Both Politico and The Daily Beast jumped to ABC and Raddatz’s defense. The Huffington Post, another liberal news outlet, joined them shortly thereafter, while calling “unusual” ABC’s attempt to kill the story before it gained wide circulation.

...

On Monday evening ABC spokesman David Ford grudgingly confirmed Obama’s attendance at the wedding, after shielding Raddatz in August

Already been proved that nobody cares about a conflict of interest where debate moderators are concerned no matter how in the tank for the Dems they are. Do I need to remind anybody of the “impartial” Gwen Ifill?

No chance for a fair debate. None. The government and media are corrupt beyond peaceful salvage.

Yeah I thought the same thing was going to happen with Jim Lehrer in last weeks debate. Being from PBS and knowing his other colleague there none other than Bill Moyers, I figured he was just as big of a lefty as him. He probably is but seems to be able to portray a more balanced and unbiased view. I didn’t notice him favoring one person or the other in the debate like I waqs expecting.

To the MSM this will be a non-story, at least until after the debate

Raddatz better not take any cheap shots at Ryan. I can see Ryan saying something like “I hear you invited Barack Obama to your wedding.. Was he there, Martha?”, or something to that effect.

Just because nobody has done anything about situations in the past doesn’t mean we shouldn’t call them out on it still.

This is the time for zero tolerance on OUR PART. Regardless of how relatively small the wrong that is put upon us, we need to scream it from the rooftops. Zero tolerance from here on out. We cannot afford to lose an inch of ground and we shouldn’t allow our govt to get away with not obeying even the most insignificant of laws.

This is the result of the damage done by the Clinton admin where they were doing things that have never been done by the presidents office before. Now Obama and his trusty LSM are taking it all to the next level.

Yeah I have to give Lehrer credit. I disagree with his politics but he let Obama and Romney debate and it was nice to see..he actually allowed it to be a fair debate..I thought it would be biased from the beginning but I was wrong. It was obvious that Lehrer was trying to help Obama out a little bit but I think even he gave up on it and just thought to himself “Screw it whats the point” and let Obama screw himself up. Maybe the same thing will happen here with this woman. Its not the fact that Obama was in attendance at her wedding, normally I wouldn’t even care, I mean so what, he was at her wedding, doesn’t mean she can’t be impartial, but its the fact that the media is trying to cover it up which means something may be up here

As I said in post 26, even tho we know they won’t do the right thing, our responsibility is at least to ASK them do the right thing.

If one of my friends were close enough to me that I was at their wedding, I would expect some softball questions if their wife moderated my debate. If nothing happens between now and debate night, Paul Ryan needs to ask her about this at the debate. Rush Limbaugh would never be allowed to moderate a debate (even though he'd be good!) and he's nowhere near as close to Romney as Obama’s friends wife!

They come from the same camp. Martha got her job in Boston... I think it was WCVB.. Gwen Eyefull is from WGBH Boston

Shocked not!

The people have a right to know this story. I know Romney can’t mention it in the debate (it would make him appear like he’s afraid if he did)... but party of me thinks he has a duty to do so.

While they are waiting for the debate to start Ryan should softly hum “Hear comes the bride ...”

I've noticed several news shows talking about how the Biden debate will put Obama ahead again. I laughed and wondered what the commentator was on. Now I'm thinking the fix has been in for a while.

Moderator: “Mr Ryan, why do you want Seniors to die now?”

Moderator: “VP Biden, tell us about your Amtrak rides with the union coal miners and steel workers that you bought breakfast for every morning just before you visited their dieing wives at the local hospital.”

I believe orders from above to the moderator is to change the subject quickly and often so there really isn't much latitude on this one.

When her husband is named to the FCC it is worth considering.

Raddaz should pull herself out of the debate due to conflict of interest.

Rats have no shame and never recuse themselves. Witness that disgusting cow on the Supreme Court, Elena Kagan, who worked to pass Mengelecare and then, after joining the Supreme Court, ruled that it was all perfectly Constitutional. Witness that faggot judge in San Francisco who ruled for faggot marriage in California, admitting that he "made law".

No. Raddatz will never pull herself out of the debate - - she will do whatever is necessary to help her party's VP candidate. Count on it. That's what she's there for.
