JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (AP) -- Missouri Democratic Sen. Claire McCaskill took aim Wednesday at Republican challenger Todd Akin with a new series of TV ads featuring rape survivors outraged by Akin's remark about "legitimate rape" and his opposition to emergency contraception.

The three separate ads feature individual testimonials from three women who said they were raped, including one who describes herself as a "pro-life" Republican and another self-described "pro-life mother" who calls herself a "woman of faith."

"and his opposition to emergency contraception"

seriously?

abortifacients are not contraception. Not having the government pay for something is not banning it.

“She’s been running ads with his quotes on student loans and Medicare and Social Security and the like as well.”

Do you want our politicians to run as leftist’s so they can fool the people in their search of power?

That sounds much like another party’s tactics.

Okay, how about an ad with Tawana Brawley? Or with that Duke babe?

You said the same thing when Romney uttered “47%”, right?

or does this only apply to actual conservatives?

I would like them to get elected. And when they say stupid things then that makes it kind of hard.

He might be able to respond, if some of those holding the purse strings relent.

Won’t it be great when he beats her anyway, eh?

Or disappointing when he doesn't. Either way we'll know in 4 weeks.

The ads are exactly as predicted. She has the money and she will saturate the KC and StL media markets with them. I have seen them on the KC stations. They will have an effect which is why I have been predicting that Akin cannot win. I wish that it were not so, but it looks like McCaskill wins this race.

Latest Rasmussen (Oct 2) has her at 51% to 45%, these ads will likely grow that gap.

“his quotes on student loans and Medicare and Social Security and the like as well.”

What did he say wrong about these?

The proper response would be abortion survivors, and women who regret their abortions, crying about having killed their children.

Some of us will be disappointed. Others here may feel some sort of perverse vindication, I'm afraid.

But I really do think he'll win.

Claire voted to impose the OBAMACARE plan on us and now she voted to kill the coal industry and raise our utilities. Her ads are as phoney as she is.

WE NEED HERE OUT OF CONGRESS, PERIOD!!!

He should counter with pictures of American Taxpayers, who are being “raped” by Democrats for the past 60 years.

Actually, he should counter with an ad featuring Pastor James Robison, who was the product of a rape and extremely anti-abortion.

If you've pegged me as pro-Romney, you're wrong. I didn't decide to vote for him UNTIL he made the 47% statement and other statements regarding the middle-East during the same fundraiser.

There is a lot more truth in believing that conservatives will never win over that certain percentage of the population that happily subsists on government handouts (even though it's not the whole 47% of non-income tax payers) than it is to say that "legitimate" victims of rape don't get pregnant.

So let me get this right... You have ads where PRO-LIFE women are now going to vote for a RABID ANTI-LIFE DEMOCRAT! These pro-life women will support the party that believes in shoving scissors into the heads of babies in the womb! Barack Hussein Obama is the most vicious anti-life candidates that the USA has ever seen and Claire McCaskill is his #1 supporter!!

Do the women go so far as to say that Akin's comments made them feel raped all over again?

If the Senate Republicans lose the Senate by ONE vote and Akin loses his race, the GOP had better just keep their mouths shut and again become content to be the minority party.

If they (GOP) had not condemned Akin, talked about him like he was $hit, refused to support him, refused a give him another dollar, he would have put that cow, McCaskill, back to the pasture. What did he have before this crap started....?....a 10 point lead over her?

GOD save the U.S. from the GOP, who have proved they will eat their own.

On the other hand, if Akin himself had not said something terribly stupid -- something so incredibly stupid as to blow that 10 pt lead -- he probably wouldn't have drawn any fire from the GOP now, would he?

If we lose the Senate seat in Missouri, there'll be plenty of blame to go around -- to both the GOP and to Akin himself.
