Has anyone else received this survey in the mail in the last month?Allegedly it's from the census bureau and dept of commerce. The form asks very intrusive personal questions such as: "What time do you go to work? What time do you return from work? How much income do you earn?". I had never heard of this survey before so I didn't respond. A stranger showed up at my door and has left a couple of notes asking me to contact him to complete the survey. Get this - this alleged Government worker even contacted my HOA's Management Co and had them get in contact with me to return his call.
Any thoughts or advice at this point is greatly appreciated.
I use it for bathroom tissue when I run low, otherwise fire starter works.
Got 5 of them. Even when I move, I get them.
They call and bug you, might even send a peeping tom over to try and fill it out for you.
No one has ever been charged with a crime that I know of for saying “FU” to them.
I’m very much looking forward to getting one of these so that I can shred it up and put it in the postage-paid envelope.
They will threaten, cajole, and try to contact neighbors about you.
While there is a statute on the books that says they can fine you, never ever heard of it happening.
If they catch you coming or going, ask for a card and tell the guy you will pass it along to those folks.
Lying to any gov’t worker these days is not a smart move, telling him the above is not a lie. Just ignore them, they will go away eventually.
Tell them to shove it.

why is a census being done in 2012/2013?
I got one in the mail months ago; I returned it unopened and put “Refused” on the envelope. I got about 50 or so calls from the Census Bureau leaving messages asking me to call.
I never did and I haven’t heard from them in the past couple of months.
They can’t make you take the survey. This issue has been brought up and discussed by a lot of people. I’ve read a lot about it, but my memory isn’t that great because I’d play cat and mouse with them. I have plenty of free time to do that. Bwhahahaha! One option is a “No Trespassing” sign and calling the police on them. I like the idea of putting a little fear into them. Or answering the door with my firearm holstered, and glancing at it with twitchy fingers. Another good idea is filling it out with a Sharpie marker- bleed through. Who knew? A crayon would be fun, too. I personally want the chance to use the 5 years of French I had and make them send a translator. I’m not sure I could pull off being deaf, mute and blind, but that might be a fun challenge. Then there is my German Shepherd from E. German blood lines with 10% wolf.... So many possibilities! Aww, crap! I think I dropped my thumb tacks by the front door and I think some neighborhood juvenile delinquent smeared Poison Ivy on my gate. (I wouldn’t really do that, but I do like to mentally mess with low IQ sheeple once in a while.)
Tell your HOA, that they have zero permission to give your name and number to anyone (in California HOAs must have written permission to give your name and number out), throw the survey away.

We've been fighting this BS for about 6 weeks now and they keep coming and coming. I started to fill out the survey but so pissed off I threw it away. Today my wife talked to the guy who showed up at the door at 6 PM on Sunday! She gave him minimal information and refused to answer about half the questions. I was working on sealing air ducts in the attic and yelling at her to say "no answer" as I could hear the exchange at the front door. He tried to confirm a phone number and I said we would take no calls and they shouldn't have a phone number as the survey is sent to an address, not a person. It really hacked me off they have our phone number. I understand from Truth is Reason that they use landlines instead of cells.
TIR also provides solid rationale for resisting, a form letter and a link to a questionnaire that you can present to the surveyor at your door asking them permissible questions.
The House of Representatives has passed legislation to stop the ACS, but it's going nowhere in the Senate. The dictator wannabes want to collect as much information about us as they can. It's much easier to round up resistors that way.

During the last census, a young girl came to my door and asked about my neighbors. All I knew was someone new had moved in, I knew nothing about them or how many were there. It was the truth. I do know someone who told a census worker they were just vacationing in the particular location. It was technically true, though it was a very long vacation. LOL. I love Hawaii!
I’ve received these surveys before in off years. Never filled one out either, but then again, I dodged the last two official censuses too. Can’t trust the government anymore. How do I know what they will do with the answers I give them? And yes, the questions are intrusive.
They will try to get answers from your neighbors too. Another reason I don’t get chummy with my neighbors.

I just had the thought- if they show up with a French translator I’ll have my daughter answer the door and talk to them in German. I had no idea I had such a devious mind! I have no social life. This could be really fun.
Got one a few years ago. (They appear to be covering the country slowly.) I thought it was incredibly intrusive so I never returned it. Nothing happened.

Actually a census worker can request a police escort to enable them to knock on your door.
Funny, because I know someone that had a “No Trespassing” sign, did call the police, and the census worker was escorted from the property. Maybe they lived in the South.
