They will threaten, cajole, and try to contact neighbors about you.

While there is a statute on the books that says they can fine you, never ever heard of it happening.

If they catch you coming or going, ask for a card and tell the guy you will pass it along to those folks.

Lying to any gov’t worker these days is not a smart move, telling him the above is not a lie. Just ignore them, they will go away eventually.

During the last census, a young girl came to my door and asked about my neighbors. All I knew was someone new had moved in, I knew nothing about them or how many were there. It was the truth. I do know someone who told a census worker they were just vacationing in the particular location. It was technically true, though it was a very long vacation. LOL. I love Hawaii!
