Lima, Peru (CNN) -- Secretary of State Hillary Clinton said the buck stops with her when it comes to who is to blame for security ahead of a deadly assault on the U.S. diplomatic mission in Benghazi, Libya.

"I take responsibility" for what happened on September 11, Clinton said in an interview with CNN's Elise Labott soon after arriving in Lima, Peru, for a visit. The interview, one of a series given to U.S. television networks Monday night, was the first she has given about the attack on the U.S. consulate in Benghazi.

Clinton insisted President Barack Obama and Vice President Joe Biden are not involved in security decisions.

"I want to avoid some kind of political gotcha," she added, noting that it is close to the election.

The attack killed Chris Stevens, the U.S. ambassador to Libya, and three other Americans at the consulate

Kansas girl hit nail on head.
What’s she taking responsibility for?
Not the cover up, which is scandal.
Just the fact that security was bad.
Which she will simply blame on someone else.
This is a non-admission.

We are missing the most important part of her statement. The “I take responsibility” is just SOP horse hockey. What she really said that is earthshaking is the final part of her statement, her reference to the “deteriorating situation in the Mid East.” That’s what Romney can nail Obama with.

It is no coincidence that this news broke right before the debate.

Possibly to try to change the subject and put Romney off-stride from what he’s “studied” up till now.

I hope it backfires big time!

She’s admitting to lax security which resulted in 4 deaths and should be fired immediately. However both she and the President continued to perpetrate the video lie and both are equally responsibility for the cover up. Buck stops with the lax security at her desk but the cover up goes to the top!

That does not excuse her from telling Zero and Joker Biden about the inadequate security after the attack happened.

So when did she tell the POTUS and VP that the consulate has insufficient protection? And who asked Susan Rice to lie about the video?

“Did Teddy “accept responsibility” for Mary Jo?”

Wikipedia kindly says YES in their own way....

“His doctors had informed him that he had suffered cerebral concussion and shock, but he did not seek to use his medical condition to escape responsibility for his actions.”

Yep-— I was right about Hellary being a puppet on Bams strings to the end. He’s like a pimp to her-— I mean it!

And it was Harry Truman who said that “the buck stopped with him” for whatever happened in the government. Harry understood what it meant to be president, Barack knows only how to avoid responsibility.

Truman fired MacArthur. Time for Zero to ask for HRC to resign. And even if he doesn't, he can kiss the PUMA votes goodbye for throwing her under the bus.

It worked for Bill Clinton when Janet Reno did it.

What if it’s the other way, and the Clintons saw their chance to hurt Hussein by first admission of “responsibility” and forcing the issue right before the debate, having seen and accepted his upcoming defeat. After he’s forced to come clean and allegedly disgraced by his incompetence, she still gets to run in 4 years.

Something else must be going on.

Dick Morris on with Hannity just know and in effect passes on commenting on Hillary accepting responsibility.

He changed the topic to Internet control.....

Surprise! Hillary falls on her sword the night before the debate.

Doesn’t wash. Hillary may be responsible for security, but it’s Obama who has set Middle East policy.

What’s next? Will Tim Geithner now stand up and take full responsibility for America’s terrible economy so that Obama won’t be blamed for it? The poor unemployment figures over the past four years, the continuing housing crisis, the soaring national debt — Obama wouldn’t have to answer questions about any of these failures at the remaining debates if Tim would only say, I’m sorry, it was all my fault.

To avoid all possibility of Obama looking bad at the debates, Obama’s Energy Secretary could publicly take full responsiblity for our high gasoline prices, his Education Secretary for our deteriorating schools, and so on.

Barack Obama: The man who was always in our faces but was never there.

It is not like a Clinton to fall on his or her sword. She will use that sword to stab Obama in the back—just you wait.

Yeah, the old Hillary would be plotting her revenge. I can think of one potential attack but it could be mutual assured destruction. ;-)

As long as the media is cooperative, this is brilliant.

1) Romney already wasn’t allowed to bring this up because it was “politicizing” it. He’s now extra-not-allowed because Obama had nothing to do with it.

2) There will be media articles slobbering over Hillary for her “courageous” taking of responsibility. Mark my words.

3) In the 2016 Presidential campaign, when Hillary runs, Republicans won’t be allowed to bring this up because it is “ancient history”, 4 years ago, and we need to “move on” and look “forward.”

I still have to wonder why security at Benghazi was so bad, and why Ambassador Stevens was there. I’m not suggesting anything sinister, but Obama does have the attitude that Muslims are our brothers and we should assume the best about them and their intentions.

I have a hunch this is a news dump right before the wag-the-dog strike in Libya. It could happen soon, right before the debate.
