McCain voters defecting to Obama are older white males
Reuters ^ | October 21, 2012 | By Gabriel Debenedetti

Roughly 5 percent of respondents in Reuters/Ipsos polls said they chose the Republican contender in 2008 and will switch to Obama in 2012.

Who are these defectors?

The McCain-to-Obama switchers are 55 percent male, and 34 percent of them are 55 or older. (Overall, Obama trails Romney 34 percent to 52 percent among white men over 50.) About 72 percent of them are white.

They are largely from the East Coast; nearly 4 in 10 live in the mid- or South Atlantic. Nearly 3 in 10 finished their education after high school, and nearly 2 in 10 have a bachelor's degree.

Two-thirds say they are absolutely going to vote, choosing "10" on a 1-10 scale for likelihood of voting.

Even though 38 percent of all voters believe the economy is the election's most prominent issue, just one-third of the McCain defectors agree. Character matters more.

Sounds like seminar poll takers to me. You heard the type before on talk radio. The ones who call in saying they are Conservative Republicans and then precede to recite the DNC talking points word for word.

It could be that 5% of former McLame voters are now dead, and are voting for Zer0 this year.

Who are these defectors?

The same folks who Rush calls seminar callers, the same folks who write letters to editor that begin with "I am a life long ....", and the same folks who manage to be in focus groups as the undecided republican.

Exhibit 1 for poll-fixing examples. Crock of the month (excluding Obama's statements).

A condition ("voted for McCain" in 2008) that cannot be validated and, in fact, is nonsense to sentient beings.

What?

Where did they find these men, under a rock?

” Right now if I had to choose it would be Obama, because he’s more personable,” said William Holliday, a 58-year-old retiree from Convis Township, Michigan. “Romney has changed his position so many damn times, you don’t know what he thinks at all. But they’re both liars.”

Holliday said that in general he leans Republican. “I did vote for McCain four years ago in spite of the fact he picked Palin. Because I thought that was a cheap trick he pulled there.”

Lying democrat plant.

My estimate is roughly 1/3 of that 5% are demented and don't actually remember who they voted for in 2008, and roughly 2/3 are 'rats lying about who they voted for in 2008.

Switching to Obama after voting Republican in 2008 seeing the disaster that 0 has been completely defies any sort of common sense.

” Jeffrey Baker, 56, a retiree in Strong, Maine, thinks Romney’s refusal to release his taxes disqualifies him. “If you can’t be honest from the start, I don’t want you in the Oval Office,” he said.”

He did release them, moron. And hasn’t obama been dishonest enough? Another lying democrat plant.

...buried at the bottom of this story is the fact that double that, 10% are switching from Obama to Romney

It's quite telling that Rueters would choose to present the smaller story instead of the larger story.

Simple test, what newspaper who endorsed McCain is now endorsing barry or vice versa. This is very revealing even for the left wing news

Um, these are Obamabots who voted for McCain in the PRIMARY but then crossed back into their OWN damn party to vote for The One.

I ain’t buying what the Pravda Media tells me. Even some McCain staffers went to work for the Obama campaign ONCE McCain had the GOP nomination.

Roughly 5 percent of respondents in Reuters/Ipsos polls said they chose the Republican contender in 2008 and will switch to Obama in 2012.

Let me rephrase that:

Roughly 5 percent of respondents in Reuters/Ipsos polls said they chose the Republican contender in 2008 and told the pollster they would switch to Obama in 2012 just to mess with the pollster and screw up his poll results.
