California Gov. Jerry Brown accuses Proposition 30 foes of 'Orwellian propaganda'

SACRAMENTO -- With less than two weeks to go before Election Day, Gov. Jerry Brown said Tuesday he is doing everything he can to overcome what he called the "Orwellian propaganda" of big-monied opponents to his tax-hike measure. Brown said voters have never faced "such a stark choice" as they do with Proposition 30, which would provide $6 billion annually to the state and avert $5.4 billion in cuts to schools and community colleges and another $250 million each to the University of California and California State University. "If you vote yes, you get billions into schools, or you vote no and you can yank billions out of schools and jack up tuition," the governor said in a telephone interview with this newspaper. "It's an either/or simple matter of arithmetic with monumental consequences for the whole state." Attack ads on Proposition 30, which seeks to raise the state sales tax by a quarter cent and income tax on higher-income earners, have come largely from the Small Business Action Committee, a group that had earlier been powered by a $16 million donation from wealthy Republican activist Charles Munger of Palo Alto. He's the half brother of Molly Munger, who is bankrolling Proposition 38, the chief rival ballot measure that seeks to raise $10 billion a year for 12 years for schools by hiking income taxes on all but the poor.

If Gov. Moonbeam really cared about children, he’d chuck the not-so-high-speed-rail and poor that money into the schools.

They’re saving one of the deepest, hottest chambers in all of hell for liberals like Jerry Brown.

LOL!

Charges of "Orwellian" from Mister "Moonbeam", who intentionally selected a whacko artist to paint his official Governor portrait...

Mister Brown is presiding over the financial ruin of the once-Golden State, and (like all socialists), does not grasp how Prop 30 would accelerate the fiscal death spiral.

Orwellian? I thought it was McCarthyist or Nixonian if not fascist!

Governor Brown may mean well, but his prescription of ever-higher taxes is 100 percent wrong. There are 3 things he could do to help heal California’s economy, create jobs for its millions of unemployed, and provide sufficient revenues for schools. 1. Substantially cut California’s astronomically-high taxes, 2. Reduce and rationalize economically-depressing regulatory overload, and 3. Clean up or clean out the large fraction of unqualified and/or corrupt managers in his state bureaucracy. How about it, Jerry? Are you ready to really lead California forward?

The schools in California are a lost cause. They exist only to feed teachers salaries and pensions and to prop up unions and democrat politicians. No matter how much money is poured into the schools they always come begging for more, even when they have worse education results to show for the money already wasted every time.

I’m for throwing everyone involved in education here out and starting over from scratch. And firing them all starting from the top down. I’m NOT kidding, I’m so sick of this garbage.

If he thinks it’s Orwellian to call a gas tax “sales tax”, I’m betting he’s never actually read anything from Orwell.

Jerry does it for the children. Or to the children.

The obvious solution is to put a $2000/head tax on the 3,000,000 illegals in California. That will either take care of the $6 billion Brown wants, or it will encourage the illegals to leave, saving the state tons of money on education, health care, and welfare. A win-win proposal.

The best thing for California would be to destroy the public school system and parents take back the minds of their own children. He is corrupting children now in Kindergarten with the teaching that unnatural, vile behavior is “Good” so it normalizes evil behavior. Our boys will think like the Afghani boys and Ancient Greeks.

The minds are being destroyed with the curricula of John Dewey and his Fabian Socialists and the later Marxists like Billy Ayers. Why do people allow the public schools and the vile TV to indoctrinate their children????

You can research Charlotte Iserbyt, John Taylor Gatto, BK Eakman—they explain the damage to the worldview of children by this insidious “education” system that was set up by degenerate Fabians who are intentionally destroy all morality and virtue-—to recreate a Brave New World.

There is so many good videos available on this subject. All parents should be forced to watch. This man warned us 40 years ago-—and he is STILL warning—and funny thing. His well researched findings are still being IGNORED. We have thrown unlimited money at perpetuating this socialist/marxist curricula forever!!!! We need it ended NOW.

All people involved in writing curricula for the socialist public schools should be in prison for the damage they have done to children.

Prop 30 bails out the union pensions that were looted by the same people raising our taxes. That’s the truth, Moonbeam.

California has gotta pass Prop 30. There is absolutely nothing at all in their tax revenue that is either wasted, nor can be cut.

Orwell wrote about Stalin and Stalinists in the West.

It wasn’t “paranoia”, it was grounded in FACT.

Stalinsts hate to be exposed. Communism kills. Stalinists lie.

And Liberals do too.

The Green Menace on the other hand is a bunch of Marxist pseudoscience redistribution and carbon credit tax shelters sales. Talk about paranoia and hysteria. The worl’s gonna DIE!

What is dangerous is Moonbeam going into a Black church in Oakland this past sunday to push his increase our taxes scam, Prop 30, for the children. That is a total violation of the separation of church and state.

If an opponent of prop 30 did that in a large all white church, the mediots would be all over that person for violation separation of church and state.

Brown, Biden and Obozo can go to Black churches and push their political poison with no problem. In mosgt cases, they often have tv and print media coverage to push their bs on tv news after the violation of the separation of church and state.

California Freepers need to vote no on Prop 30 and Prop 31, the prop 13 killer.

Prop 31 will make others pay for the tax and spend local governments like Oakland, San Jose, LA and other liberal controlled cities/counties in California.

Teachers Unions in California agree with you wholeheartedly.
California schools are broken despite getting a lot of money because of the Teachers Unions.
