It’s not a very safe place to be. He’d be better off just naming the person responsible.
A bone chilling account and a gutless response.
Making a decision not to intervene on behalf of our soldiers is tantamount to these “Leaders” personally sticking a knife between the shoulder blades of these men.
Only difference is that I am positive these guys believed until they last breath that their leaders would send in reinforcements to help.
what I want to know is why the idiots receiving the order followed it?
Every soldier is taught that they have an obligation to ignore illegal orders and if I had heard it, I hope I would have said that is crap and gone forward.
Bengi is full of MANPADS missiles and they thought subsequent help would be SHOT DOWN, making a Blackhawk Down/Desert One scenario right before a Prez election.
And you think Joe Paterno deserved the contempt HE got...
What a shamfeful worm of a man. Man he spend his days in infamy.
“Come save our lives”
This alone has moved me to tears. I cannot stop crying.
BS they had 5 hours

That's what they did and that's why the SEALs (former) are now dead, if I understand the story correctly.
I just read earlier that our Seals on the roof had a laser to target those they needed taken out. In other words, with our ability to precisely target with laser guided munitions, there was no danger of injuring anyone but the bad guys.
The laser info was broadcast to higher as it happened. They still wouldn’t follow through.
They left our Seals to die. Abandoned.
They did disobey orders (after they made a second request one hour after the first request) and left the CIA annex and made their way to the U.S. Consulate and brought survivors (and I believe one American that had been killed) back to the annex — aprox time 1:20.
WATCH Jennifer Griffin’s report - LINKED below.
yes, I agree that explains why the SEALS are dead but it doesn’t explain why no one else acted
The QRF from tripoli was ambushed —what was the reason to think that the Larger and MORE expected QRF from Sigonella would not be also? This time the enemy would be MUCH betterprepared.
Their view was that they were cutting their losses.
I’m waiting for the WH spin blaiming the deaths at the CIA safe house on Dourghty and Woods. The spin will go like this: they were told to stand down because no one knew about the safe house. In spite of orders they went anyway and were followed back. Their own actions exposed them and the others and was the cause of their deaths. If they had just followed orders they might be alive today. It’s B.S. but I can see the WH and the MSM pushing it.
I really don’t know how the military can continue to follow these cowards.
If Dempsey and Petreus don’t resign it will prove just how cowardice they are.
Good point...I emailed them too.
The deaths of the two former Navy Seals who disobeyed orders and went to the aid of the Benghazi Embassy personnel reminds me of the two U.S. Army Special Operators who volunteered multiple times to come to the aid of the downed helicopter crew in Somalia.
