Funny, I know next to nothing about professional
baseball players but guess I knew
the name Ted Williams.

DC Metroland weather report

~ Today...Showery rains containing strong gusty winds
and heavy downpours at times.
High 53F. Winds NW at 25 to 40 mph.
Rainfall over 2 inches expected.
Winds could occasionally gust over 60 mph.

~ Tonight...A wind driven heavy rain.
Low 43F. Winds WSW at 25 to 35 mph.
Rainfall expected to exceed 2 inches.
Winds could occasionally gust over 50 mph.

Everything is closed on the east coast.
So far we are getting mainly rain, some wind gusts.
But Sandy's eye hasn't reached us yet.
The worst of it will be tonight and tomorrow
and it may miss the Beachy homestead but bulls-eye on DC.
Which means a great possibility government will be closed again tomorrow.

I need to make my rounds
as I won't know when power will go out.
But, you stay right where you are. Cause...............I'll be bock!

So far, so good in my area, mostly rain, and the wind is starting to pick up. Wind was intermittent earlier but becoming more constant.

Tonight will be the interesting part when Sandy comes ashore.

We are prepared.

Williams and Rogers Hornsby are the only two players to win the Triple Crown twice..yet in both his Tripel Crown seasons, Williams was NOT voted the MVP..mainly because thew Boston sportswriters hated him.

Just goes to show that Ted was decades ahead of the times in his loathing of the MSM..

BTW..if you haven't ever read it..Ted's book, "the Science of Hitting"..is awesome...You can likely find a used copy on Amazon..
