Some see GOP voting tsunami coming
examiner ^ | October 30, 2012 | 4:52 pm | Paul Bedard

Democrats more than Republicans are getting their most loyal supporters to vote early, but with polls showing a close race among those who have voted so far, concerns are being raised about a GOP tsunami on the actual Election Day, next Tuesday.

According to a GOP analysis of early voting and absentee ballot requests provided to Secrets, the Democrats are turning out their most reliable, or so-called "high propensity voters" than Republicans, leaving fewer for Election Day. The GOP is pushing weaker supporters to vote early, expecting high enthusiasm to drive their regular supporters to the polls next week.

These are the key stats in the article nervous nancy’s ought to look at:

*****

“Democrats are cannibalizing their high-propensity voters in advance of election day to get stories that they are winning,” said a GOP analyst. “But in effect they are stealing from Peter, or Election Day, to pay Paul, or early voting.”

For example, in Ohio, the Democrats have turned out 43 percent of the most loyal supporters to vote, compared to just 27 percent of the GOP. In Iowa, the difference is 43 percent to 29 percent.

“Republicans will have more reliable voters available on Election Day and are spending our efforts turning out low propensity voters in the absentee and early voting periods,” added the analysis.

Even with the difference in turnout of loyal supporters, Gallup finds that among early voters, Romney is beating Obama 52 percent to 45 percent, though some state totals show an Obama advantage. Plus in states like North Carolina, Colorado and Iowa, the GOP has seen huge requests for last-minute absentee ballots this month.

I know a lot of people are waiting until election day to vote so that Obama will get overconfident and think he has already won but I think he’s going to be in for a very ugly surprise of unprecedented magnitude.

It’s going to come up inland, maintain speed, and turn Right taking the Pres__nt Resident HCR with it.

The positive wave of GOP voters that wiped out the mid-term, Democrat congress in 2010, is about to embark and vote by the millions, come next Tuesday, Election Day and politically destroy both Obama and major numbers of Democrat office holders!!! The Obamabot media has nary a clue what’s coming to wipe them out. The Democrat Party has had tons of ample warnings to broom Obama out-of-office. They refused...so...now they can go down with him!!!

GeronL your comment reminds of a Bloom County cartoon in 1984 when the Meadow party had their political convention across the street from the democratic convention and a democratic delegate accidentally wandered in with a Mondale button on. He asked Steve Dallas who the candidates were and Steve told him a “A talking penguin and a dead cat” the guy took off his campaign button button said “That’s better than the democrats”

I voted yesterday via absentee. I wanted to cast my ballot in person on the 6th (I was going to go early in the morning, with a suit and tie even), but other responsibilities arose for next week.

Count this Californian as being on the crest of that tsunami, and with more pride and conviction than I have ever felt in several decades of never missing a vote.

Now, I must continue to convince some iffy voters to do the civic responsibility thing.

I am going to crawl over broken glass to vote Ohole out...even though I live in NY. Voting straight republican. Who knows what might happen? Most (white) democrats I know in the NYC area are disgusted with the bastard.

For the iffy voters I offer two points that Romney has in his favor: 1.He will get rid of Obamacare and 2.He will get rid of all the anti-business ideologues in the White House. These are two measures which are easily taken that would substantially improve the economy in the short term.

The margin of R & R’s victory over Obama will be equal to or greater than Obama’s margin of victory over McCain in 2008, which was 7%.

I call November 6th National Obama Repudiation Day...

The stakes are too high. If Obama gets back in, he’ll appoint 1, maybe two, more Sotomayors or Kagans to the USSC. That’s the end of this nation, as we know it.

Wife went to the Mesquite, NV Senior Center for some sewing thingy. Forgot that they held early voting there today, and her group was crowded out of the room they usually used. Says there were lines waiting to vote, and when we drove by later, the parking lot was still packed.

A few of that group I talked with earlier were disillusioned obama types or hard-core Pubbies, so I think this is a small indication of the coming tsunami.

But then, on election night 2008 I thought sure people would see through the empty suit and vote for McCain and Sarah. :-(

For what it’s worth. Gotta admit though, I haven’t seen this kind of fervor since the Reagan days.
