“fairly reliable U.S. senator” Newt said. Fairly is an interesting word. I wonder how the senator feels that Newt considers him fairly reliable?
Almost certainly that Senator is John McCain. Maybe, just maybe, McCain might actually serve useful for a change.
I've heard Newt, on many occasions, sort of as a verbal tick, use the adjective 'fairly' in a facetious way so as to mean VERY. As in..."I think the left wing bias of most of the press is fairly obvious to even the most casual observer.
I think “fairly” was probably to give deniability. Somebody posted that they think the senator is McCain, which is very possible. McCain is taking this one very seriously - I know it’s a pity he didn’t take his candidacy as seriously four years ago - but I think we have to give him credit for his actions now.
I wonder if that is code for McCain. After all, he has been livid over this Benghazi affair, and he could be described as “fairly” reliable, at best, if you were in a generous mood.
