October 30, 2012 (LifeSiteNews.com) – An Ottawa-area mom says she is “incensed” that a teacher at her daughter’s Catholic school has organized a trip to Ohio in the final days of the U.S. election to support the re-election of President Obama.
Fifty-two students from St. Peter’s and St. Matthew’s high schools in Ottawa are set to make the trek across the border this week to Boardman, Ohio, accompanied by civics teacher Scott Searle.
Ohio is considered a key swing state in the presidential election.
Calls by LifeSiteNews to St. Peter’s school were directed to the school board. A media spokesperson at the board denied that the students would be involved in supporting the Obama campaign. Instead the goal of the trip is simply to “observe” voter registration and the voting process, said Communications Officer Mardi de Kemp.

Are you sure this is a Catholic school? Does your Priest know what you are up to? Does he agree with it?
Searle currently lists “volunteer” with “Obama for America” on his LinkedIn profile for 2012.
As well as he’s for same-sex marriage and at war with freedom of religion in our Constitution.

I’m beginning to believe there’s really no turning back for organized Christianity. The Church may survive, but the “Church,” as such, has become the habitation of devils.
I think if the Bishops of Ohio were asked or the Bishops of Ontario, they would say it is wrong what this school is doing.
In many parts of Christianity, the hierarchy is going in the right direction.
It is people like Nancy Pelosi and Joe Biden telling Catholics they have "the freedom" to believe whatever they want -- be Cafeteria Catholics -- without any consequences.

UN Voter observers are being threatened with arrest in Texas and I forget whatever state (if they get within a certain distance of polling places).
I did contact the Cardinal Newman Society, though they deal mainly with Catholic Colleges. I still think their President Patrick Reilly would have some comments about this situation.

I just wrote the Canadian Catholic school board and threatened them with retaliation from Americans if they’re going to do that. I also pointed out that both the teacher and the board’s director of communications lied about what’s going on, using the teacher’s own quote. I am incensed about this.
What are the Ohio laws regarding this?
Iowa has warned them off too.

This happens to be against US law. Non-citizens are NOT allowed to participate in US elections, or electioneering, no matter what the Democrats say. I hope ICE meets them at the border and follows them throughout their stay.

Ha, my daughter had this guy as a teacher. Said he be all nice and friendly, then if somebody misbehaves he’ll snap and start yelling at them.
In Canada, you don’t have to be a Catholic to teach at a Catholic school (but you do have to conform your teaching to Catholic values). It’s part of the deal where the Catholic School Boards get taxpayer money. I don’t know if he himself is Catholic or not, chances are he is. There are very few non-Catholic teachers.
I place these foreigners on notice that I consider them to be my enemy... plain and simple. If they were to show up at my door I would badger their illegal foreign asses out of my neighborhood, and notify the police of their law breaking activity.
Too many Catholics don’t understand Liberalism. Liberalism is an ideology that does not include God’s teachings. They are so absorbed with Liberalism that they let it take the place of God. Liberalism is their God. If they only realized that the First Commandment of God says that you should not worship false God’s, perhaps Catholic clergy would begin to understand what is happening to the Church.

I really like the idea of traveling to observe. At the Fairfax County (VA) phone bank in 2008 we had a troup of foreign journalists come through. They could also observe polling places, door knocking, etc. Participate? I’m not with that.
I hope none of the Ohioans decide to “discuss” the Canuck’s interference into our elections.
The tone of the article suggests that the students were being forced by the teacher. One of the students was against it and spoke out on condition of being anonymous.
I’m thinking that Catholic should have quotes around it. You cannot be Catholic and support Obama, period. He not only supports things that are antithetical to the Catholic faith, but he actively pushes them! I really believe that a vote for that man would be a Mortal sin.
