Bloomberg: The National Guard in Coney is a bad idea (because they are armed)

Mayor Bloomberg has snubbed Borough President Markowitz’s impassioned plea to bring the National Guard to Hurricane Sandy-scarred Brooklyn — arguing that approving the Beep’s request would be a waste of federal manpower and turn the borough into a police state.

“We don’t need it,” Mayor Bloomberg said on Wednesday during a press update on the city’s ongoing Hurricane Sandy cleanup. “The NYPD is the only people we want on the street with guns.”

Markowitz demanded the National Guard’s help just an hour before Bloomberg’s press conference, claiming that the NYPD and FDNY are “brave — but overwhelmed” by all the challenges Sandy brought when it visited the borough on Monday night: flooding, power outages, and looting.

What a moron. I’d like to see him give up his armed security detail.

Surely this guy is NOT responsible for building the Bloomberg business channel?

Nobody can be this big of a boob in public and have built a business or run a business!

It was anarchy under Koch, and especially Dumbass Dinkins. Guiliani restored some semblance of order, but post-Rudy, it’s turned back into a craphole. (I worked there from 1971-1988, and got out in 1989.) They sure got what they voted for.

Has Michael Bloomberg ever been tested to determine whether he is, in fact, a woman?

Bloomberg, a rich man sitting in his protected ivory tower telling the minions that protection for the little people is “not needed.” Class warfare so to speak.

But those people voted Bloomberg into power. And you get the government you vote for and therefore deserve.

Bloomberg is a total idiot!
The Armory does not have to be opened!
But the assets of the NG should be used!
He should have a plea into the Gov now for support from the
NYNG!

Yes, he’s condemned them to anarchy - but on a lighter brighter note desperate citizens won’t have horrible sugar highs from Big Gulps...

“This guy is such an absolute and total moron it would be funny if he didn’t have the authority to force so many of his asinine ideas on the public.”

Bloomie is a reflection of the denizens of the Big Sh*tty. His hoplophobia is part of the Big Sh*tty mentality. The Big Sh*tty denizens are getting what they deserve.

Oh, FGS! Cavuto interviewed a woman from Staten Island yesterday who said more than once the National Guard has been wonderful. Regarding Bloomberg, she said the only thing he cared about was Manhattan. :)
