OBAMA'S CLEVELAND RALLY ATTENDANCE 20X LOWER THAN 2008
breitbart ^ | 3 Nov 2012 | JOHN NOLTE

Posted on 11/03/2012 11:36:53 AM PDT by barmag25

Last night, in the cold and with long lines, 30,000 people showed up in Ohio to see Mitt Romney and Paul Ryan. That same day, Obama attracted a meager 2,800. But enthusiasm for President FailureTeleprompter can be judged by more than comparisons with Romney. In 2008, at his last stop in Cleveland, a Democrat stronghold, Obama attracted 80,000 people. This morning, at his last 2012 stop in that same city, Obama could only attract 4,000.

Team Obama will spin, as they have throughout the campaign, and tell their stenographers in the Corrupt Media that they've intentionally chosen smaller, more personal venues. But does anyone honestly believe that if President WaterParter could attract crowds even half as large as the ones we saw in 2008, he wouldn't?

No no no... chris matthews, valerie jarrett, david axlerod and many timid FReepers have told us that excitement and huge numbers of people at rallies on the campaign trail are a sure sign of a candidate losing support and the election.

I'm not sure that answered my question. I get that you're being sarcastic and saying that the libs are saying that big crowds for Romney mean he's losing. But, I want to know what kinds of crowds a popular incumbent usually gets.

I’m with you...what in the world is “20x lower”??? You could say “one-twentieth” or, as you suggest, 5%.

Or maybe it’s this way. Today, 4,000 people show up. 20x 4,000 = 80,000. Does that mean 4,000 minus 80,000 showed up today? Maybe 76,000 really wanted to be there, but had toenails to clip and hair to wash.

Any way you put it, though, it is great news.

Stupid Headline Alert.

Twenty times X is 20X. So if the attendance were 20 times lower than before, attendance would be negative, which is probably impossible, even for Dimocrats. Would that mean everyone in attendance was dead, but there were 20 times as many of them? Or did a gigantic hole open up and a lot of people fell in? What the heck does 20 times lower mean?

If the numbers are accurate, then attendance is one-twentieth of the 2008 attendance, not 20 times lower.

Even conservatives can be stupid at math.

Don't forget how the Dems scrambled to change venues for Obama's speech at their nominating convention, because he couldn't fill the huge stadium they'd set up for him.

Only the most blithering libtard faithful are showing up to hear Obama ramble now.

I cringe, whenever I see that dumbed-down formulation. Some “genius” editor once glommed onto the fact that most of his readers couldn’t handle fractions, or percentages. Solution: dumb down the math, to the point where it’s an oxymoron.

Amen, brother. 20x smaller, not knowing when to use I or me. Apparently, the only tests in liberal arts schools are for political affiliation.

Obama and Biden both in high school gyms today? That is petty pathetic. Probably most there not old enough to vote. I guess they’ll take warm bodies anyplace they can get them. I cannot wait for Tuesday night!

The empty chair attracts more empty chairs than occupied chairs. ;-)

Seriously, something does not pass the smell test here. Mitt attracts 30K while a sitting Pres attracts less than 4K in the same state. And the polls indicate it is a close race? I just have a feeling that we will be pleasantly surprised on Tuesday evening.....early.

20X lower = 5% of the turnout in ‘08
//////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////

Apparently that is the intended message but I hate it when people use expressions like 20X lower. In reality ONE TIME LESS than anything equals zero, twenty times less does not equal one twentieth, it would in fact result in a negative number. What is even worse is when people use percentages this way, they end up with utter absurdities such as two thousand percent less. If I had used such terms in the fourth grade I would never have made it to the fifth grade.

My bet is 1) everyone around her had a blast and enjoyed her; 2) she was asleep within 10 minutes of being back in the car and slept like a rock all the way home.

unemplaoyment might be higher for blacks but honestly do they care?
I’ve met a few blacks recenly over the elections and all of them care about color and certainly their food stamps and yes I was told they are voting to stop the cutting of their food stamps and welfare.

1. Yes! Everyone was so nice and kid friendly, which is a huge plus when you have a toddler climbing all over any- and everyone. 2. Mom did a good job of planning and packed jammies, so it was night-night time as soon as she was strapped in the car seat. :)

This story is somewhat bogus. Not quite up to usual Breitbart standards.

The 80,000 were in downtown Cleveland. LOTS of Sons and Daughters of Barack nearby. Hundreds of thousands.

The 4,000 today were NOT in the “same” city or venue. Today’s rally was in Mentor, 25 miles to the east of Cleveland, in a different county. Employment is 5.1%

Not many black folks around. Less than 5,000 in the whole county. Lake county is 96% white and 2% black. Population 235,000. White libs mostly showing up.

Venues not comparable at all.

The only reason obama would do this would be to be seen with some happily cheering employed white people and to take credit for it. With hardly a black face around to scare those still undecided white folks.

There is no question obama could have drawn WAY more than 4,000 in downtown Cleveland, but the percentage of black faces would have been WAY too high for his liking.

C’mon, Breitbart, don’t do this kind of crap.
