Murdoch to Christie: Re-declare for Romney or Take Blame if He's Defeated

New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie will have to carry the blame if Barack Obama wins four more years in the White House, News Corp. chairman Rupert Murdoch has claimed.

The only way for Christie to redeem himself is by making it clear before Tuesday's election that he supports his fellow Republican, Murdoch tweeted.

He made his comment after congratulating New York City Mayor Michael Bloomerg for calling off the city's marathon on Friday in a tweet.

"Thanks Bloomberg right decision.@Now Christie, while thanking O, must re-declare for Romney, or take blame for next four dire years.”

Some conservatives, including Rush Limbaugh, have slammed Christie for being too fulsome in his praise for Obama so close to the election. They fear it could resonate with voters and help Obama.

Christie, who delivered the keynote speech at the Republican National Convention, was an effective critic of Obama on the campaign trail. He repeatedly praised the president during the Hurricane Sandy ordeal for his leadership.

Limbaugh tore into Christie for his praise of Obama, on his show Thursday.

New Jersey is still a freaking mess and nothing is getting done in a timely manner.

Christie thinks Obama is doing a great job because they both suck ass.

Heck of job, Christie. Heck of a job.

Christie is focused on the disaster in New Jersey. He’s doing the best he can to help his people. Critics don’t know what he’s dealing with.

I live in NJ and think Christie has done a fantastic job as a Republican Gov. in a very liberal State. I wish he were more conservative but if he were to espouse the ideals we here do he never would have been elected in this State.

All the shots/videos I’ve seen of Christie were of a disheveled man who had been lacking sleep.

I can understand why he might have been lacking sleep. Too bad Obama's sleep was more important to him than the lives of four Americans in Benghazi.

Thanks - I do hope I did not minimize what people are going through. My prayers go out to all of those people. We will support relief efforts also.

I actually don’t think this is going to hurt Mitt.

I'm going to paraphrase the ABOs here (God help me) and say that anything that doesn't help Romney helps Obama.

There was a way to invite the President of the United States to tour storm damage without appearing fawning and subservient. Christie failed to find it. While it's true that Christie's actions may not have hurt Romney, there isn't a real downside for Obama. That's where he has explaining to do.
