'Dozens' of Colorado Romney Voters Claim Machines Changed Votes to Obama

Dozens of voters in Pueblo County, Colorado have claimed electronic voting machines have changed their votes for Mitt Romney to votes for President Barack Obama.

The Pueblo County Republican Party has asked the Colorado Secretary of State's office to investigate the matter.

A voter told KRDO Newschannel 13 that a checkmark appeared next to Obama's name after she cast her vote for Romney.

"I wonder where my vote really counted," she stated.

Pueblo County Clerk and Recorder Gilbert Ortiz admitted he was aware of "fewer than ten instances" of votes being switched and conceded such errors have occurred since the county has used the electronic voting machines in 2006. He blamed those changes on human error.

Gilbert said voters had several chances to check their ballot before submitting it, but Pueblo Republican Chair Becky Mizel said the county's clerk office should, "at the very minimum," place a note on the door of polling places informing voters to lookout for potential problems with the voting machines.

Last week, the Republican National Committee sent letters to six states, asking them to more closely monitor electronic voting machines -- and to re-calibrate them -- on Election Day. Colorado was one of those six states.

I'm still waiting for an explanation of why some evil genius who is smart enough to hack into the software and change the way a voter's vote is counted (which is what these stories all imply) is stupid enough to also change the way the screen reflects the vote, so that it reflects vote the evil genius wants counted, and not the vote the voter cast, so that the voter is alerted to the problem, and is able, somehow, to correct it.

Maybe one day I will get that explanation. Until then, I file all of these stories under "sticky accelerator."

It is interesting that the RNC has not been raising all kinds of noise about this. Let the lawyers go after this, and demand that it is fixed. This is a serious issue. "Dozens" of votes could add up to make a difference in the outcome.

If the obama votes were being converted to romney, we would have seen how the dems reacted. You can bet that this would have been fixed faster than you can say "cheating".

A expert on these machines was on Fox News Channel. He said these types of problems are caused by improper calibration of the machines.

If was an “improper calibration of the machines,” then 50% of the “errors” would be a Romney vote going to Obama and 50% of the time it would be an Obama vote going to Romney.

If the “error” vote is in Obama’s favor every time, then something is VERY fishy.

You have the option to vote with a paper ballot in Colorado, at least in early voting. I always use paper. I can't imagine why anyone would trust an electronic vote. There's absolutely no back up with it, and no way to double check the vote with certainty.

I voted straight republican party, went on to vote for school board, retention of judges, etc. when I finalized my vote, the machine indicated that I had not voted for president...I sought help, was directed as to how to vote for Romney, and did so. I have no idea how my vote for all the republicans registered and my vote for romney did not....I wonder how many times it happened and how many people overlooked it....and I am in Indiana!!

Not that I don’t think for one second the dims would do anything to get obozo back in, but I worked tech support for dialysis, point of sale software and desktop support and I know first hand how stupid people can be with technology. I had a guy once trying use his mouse sideways so I would not have much confidence that he could use a touch screen. I had another dude trying to put an audio cassette into a dialysis machine.

Find out the company who made the machines. INdiana would not authorize the company making the machines used in Ohio. The name of the company should be sent to FOX NEWs voter fraud site.

They better have this all recalibrated, i.e. 'fixed' by Tuesday, or all hell is gonna' break loose. Also would recommend people take pics and movies if they can. . We need evidence. It's pretty obvious Obama is down by 5 points or so nation wide, so voter fraud is his last trump card - and I suspect they are going to try every trick in the book. Photos, movies, recordings - go for it guys and gals. . it's our America that's on the line. .

Good ideas, but the dye requires physical presence. Maybe national voter IDs based on locally provided IDs (Drivers Licenses or local non-driver counterpart) with added state notation?

But we're going to have to force the "representatives" to pass laws that enforce "one person, one vote"... as one of the first grass-roots based legislative pushes.

We KNOW they won't do it of their own accord.
