The U.S. Election is a Referendum on Civilization
The American Thinker ^ | November 6, 2012 | Daren Jonescu

Posted on 11/06/2012 1:52:52 AM PST by Cincinatus' Wife

That the election of November 6, 2012, has the potential to be a definitive moment in American history is now almost a truism. This conception may sound overblown to the ignorant and disengaged, but in fact it is a great understatement. As America is the only nation left in which freedom is still on the ballot, this definitive U.S. election means even more, in truth, than most voters may realize. It is a referendum on the survival of modern civilization.

......if the rest of the world were allowed to vote, Barack Obama would win in a Saddam-like landslide.

Throughout what is left of the civilized world, Obama's superiority to Mitt Romney, and in general Democrats' superiority to Republicans, is the default assumption, regarded as beyond question. .....one who dares to admit thinking the United States of America a very agreeable proposition is regarded as either an infidel or a dope.

These two presuppositions -- that the Democrats are the good guys, and that America is essentially a bad thing -- should always be understood as a pair. Together, they reveal exactly what the modern Democratic Party and the American media have spent decades trying to hide from their fellow citizens -- namely, that to prefer the Democrats is to dislike America......

....A man is hanging from a cliff, with only his fingers still gripping solid rock. The prevailing impetus is all downward, but the man continues to dangle in one place as long as that grip holds out. If he lets go, however, his fall will be short and decisive.

Modern civilization is that man. America is his final, desperate grip. On November 6, 2012, that man will either be left alone to continue his brave, heartbreaking struggle for another day, or a boot will come down on his fingers.....

“The U.S. Election is a Referendum on Civilization”
______________________________________________

It is a referendum on the future of America.
Will it remain the greatest country on earth, or become like Europe, or even worse, a full blown Communist society.
God save America from the leftist scum.

"God save America from the leftist scum."

Amen.
If I live to 100 I will never understand how any thinking person can support the community organizer. The worst president ever.

Lord, the Lord of Abraham, the Lord Who Willed America to be, America is less than ninety minutes from the dawn of Your day, a day which You have made as all the days before, am calling Lord, am calling on You Lord for there is nowhere to go but to You. Make our forces strong Lord. Bring our forces forth from Your sandy plains, hills, mountains, prairie, deserts, mountains, valleys, from every tree from coast to coast. Cause our decisions to be Your decisions Lord. Bolster our hearts for sometimes we doubt Your Power, yet we know if You will Lord, this victory will be ours. In Jesus Name. Amen. Amen.

In my experience, most Americans have absolutely no idea of what Europe is like. Moreover, they tend to confuse the particular problems in one country with the entire continent. A bit like thinking the worst neighbor is the representative of the neighborhood. So, unless you actually KNOW something about Europe, perhaps you should use a different reference.

****If I live to 100 I will never understand how any thinking person can support the community organizer.****

Modern man has stopped thinking - we don’t have to. We are slaves to technology and depend on anonymous ‘others’ to deliver food, build our homes, provide & fix our water & power supplies, build and maintain our autos, roads, teach our kids and save us from natural disasters.

At some point we handed over our freedom for convenience. Much like we abort babies!! We have lost our ‘innocence’ and faith in a higher power - replacing God with an unholy Government.

Evolution in reverse!!!!

They appeal to mankinds' weaknesses and desires. Look where they've lived and reigned -- the inner cities.

“this conception may sound overblown to the ignorant and disengaged, but in fact it is a great understatement.”

Jadedness may seem hip to some but it’s really not conducive to seeing a things on a grander scale or having a broader scope. Reality can be harsh but it is what it is. If you can’t accept it, it’s just gonna lead to more confusion and the view from there won’t be so clear.

Thank you for that beautiful prayer...may God Bless America once again and give us a moral, decent leader rather than Obama...

No need to be sorry. I’ve heard that phrase from many Europeans, (and others,) who seem to think we are all misguided children who need led around by our noses until we ‘mature’. It is a phrase most often used by the same ‘leaders’ who have led their own countries either to destruction or to islam...which is national suicide.
Right now we have a ‘leader’ who agrees with them and would do either or both of the same things to us. Somehow, we must ALL fight back or we ALL fall down.
Freedom IS worth the fight.
