Foxnews ^

KEANSBURG, N.J. – New Jersey's famously tough-talking governor finally got a hug from his longest-running unrequited love.

The famously liberal Springsteen had never previously acknowledged the Republican governor.

Christie says he wept at home after talking by phone to his idol, calling it a major highlight during a tough week.

She did, on Hannity last night. She said that when Obama was first elected, he denied federal education funding to New Jersey because of Christie, so Christie felt like he had to do something to ensure that Jersey would get federal help for Sandy recovery.

Well what did you expect from this crazy sob after THIS??

Chris Christie goes berserk when criticised about appointing a Muslim judge:

“Sharia Law has nothing to do with this at all, it’s crazy!” he cried. “The guy is an American citizen!” He concluded that the “Sharia Law business is just crap… and I’m tried of dealing with the crazies,” adding with disgust and frustration that “it’s just unnecessary to be accusing this guy of things just because of his religious background.”

"I thought something seemed odd when Christie, who campaigned strongly for Romney in the primaries, seemed invisible in the general election. Maybe it was the VP thing."

No they got together once. But Krispy Kreme's Fatty Arbuckle ouevre doesn't project well (or too well) in HDTV. That's lookist but that's a fact.

“She did, on Hannity last night. She said that when Obama was first elected, he denied federal education funding to New Jersey because of Christie, so Christie felt like he had to do something to ensure that Jersey would get federal help for Sandy recovery.”

don’t recall her saying all of that. She did allude to it.

It’s not good enough anyway ofr either her nor CC.

He should have acted with as much character as anyone with responsibility is expected to act, and if not more, and turned away from BO like Rick Perry did regarding the fires.

It brought BO’s mishandling of Govt funds (FEMA funds). Anne said FEMA shouldn’t work that way, but we have to accept that it does. Well, yes, anne, with enabling governors and their fans it does.

Well, no it shouldn’t and CC had a chancce to say, “hey, Bronco, we don’t need FEMA funds so badly that we have to pretend they’re yours personally, so we NJers are just not going to grovel.”

As a republican, that’s what CC is expected to do. But NJ Pubs maybe expect us to realize Norhteast Pubs are not quite the same. as others.

I never liked Christie, I have been vindicated with his actions.

“I know there were several FREEPERS out there saying it had to be Christie...that he would be the right choice for POTUS or VEEP.”

I’ve always supported Christie in general because of how bad things are here in NJ; he was elected to fix them and is doing a decent job (ask the thousands of laid-off municipal employees). I’ve always maintained that Christie wouldn’t play well outside of states with similar problems, and have NEVER suggested he should be veep. I think the number of FReepers who thought he should was always fairly small.

I did not know about the E key of Bruce. I’ll bet he can’t even sing in D or A minor.

Mr Open chord.

Weeping over a chat with a guy that sings a good tune

WHY THAT'S OUTRAGEOUS, how dare you say that!

The filthy Communist couldn't sing his way out of a wet paper bag...he just hollars out of tune.

His guitar playing stinks, it's amateurish to say the least. Watch any video, it's all: down 1,2,3,4. down 1,2,3,4. down 1,2,3,4 - gag!

The idiot looks like he's pumping water on that axe.

Wow, this thread’s getting tough on a guy who’d record so far in NJ is nothing short of amazing. On top of that, his state is in big troble, and he announced TO EVERYBODY that he could give a rip about the election at this point.

He’s got people in the cold right now, FEMA’s completely let him down, and he’s got union thugs turning away non-union crews trying to help get the lights back on.

He probably hasn’t slept in a while, to boot.

I grew up idolizing Springsteen too. I haven’t bought any of his stuff since Tunnel of Love, which was pretty weak too.

Christie is being a Jersyite first, and a politician second. Springsteen’s a washed up hack, but then Elvis went that way too. You see the guy the way you’d like to remember him.

Not everything is about politics. I suggest the Christie-haters put a quaalude under their tongue and send up a few words to the Lord that this day turns out to be the landslide we all hope it is.

We’ll need a few more after that towards Romney being as conservative as he says he’s going to be.

Otherwise, well . . .

Well then he should have waited before proclaiming what a great job Obama was doing.

Bruce is adored by everybody that was born in NJ, rich, poor, young, old. When Christie was running for Governor he made it clear he was a Springsteen fan, stated that he has been to every concert and will continue to do so, he asked Springsteen to sing at one of his rallies and Bruce refused. If I remember correctly Springsteen told him to not use his songs during the campaign. Christie to his credit won't let up on Sprinsteen must have drove Bruce crazy.
Most of us in NJ didn't get to see the Obama hug because we didn't have electric, but we all agree that Christie is doing a great job, well except the government check cashiers.
The town he was in was totally devastated in the storm, it was hit with a 15 ft surge, the flood traveled 1 mile inland and destroyed everything. It is a Democratic town and no one ever shows up for a photo op, I for one was so glad he stopped there.
This area is devastated and if hugging Obama will get up the help we need then I say hug away.
For the record I was not born in NJ and gave up years ago trying to figure out the love for Bruce, even NJ born republicans love him.

What people should be outraged about is that Springsteen was hitching a ride on Airforce one!
