This Is The Last Time
Vanity | 11/07/12 | Veritas2002

Posted on 11/06/2012 11:39:37 PM PST by veritas2002

This is the last time I will be voting in a national election. I am in my 60's and have concluded that, if this is the kind of governing Americans want, they should have it...and all its consequences.

Sour grapes you say? Perhaps. But after four years of the most abysmally failed government with consistently high unemployment, 16 trillion dollars in national debt, downgrading of our bonds and monetary system with printing of dollars by the Fed, attacks against freedom of religion, a loss of American leadership in the world, class warfare, homosexuality embedded in our fabric, our nuclear family deconstructed by government policies, gun running to Mexico and lies about it before Congressional hearings, refusal to protect Americans serving in our embassies across the globe, an energy policy that has tripled the price of gasoline at the pump, a Justice Dept that treats people not according to an equal application of the law but according to politics, a politicized press that is derelict in adequately informing the people about its government, attacks against free markets and capitalism, and on and on and on...

If given all this, the American electorate is either too blind to see or thinks that this exemplifies good government, then have at it. Just count me out.

But, some day perhaps people will wake up. My guess is that it will be too late and things most cherished - civic values long held dear - will be gone forever.

In the meantime, this retiree will collect his pension and social security and together with savings watch those younger and smaller in number figure out how they will pay for all the 'government hand-outs' and supportive services the 'baby boomer' generation that is about to retire will require. All the time doing so without the tax revenue on the income they earned while working. They will have to figure out how they, a very much smaller cohort of taxpayers will make up the difference.

They will need to come up with some better ideas than one Barack Obama and his list of accomplishments from 2008 to present. Good luck but you won't be seeing me at the polls ever again. It's been a ride. Adios, Americanos.

I’m done too. I’m 47 with no kids to worry about leaving a crappy world which is coming anyway.

I can’t turn the tide when it’s going out on me.

My plan is now eat drink and be merry and hopefully get enough cash to check out somewhere away from this coming hellhole that was America.

That’s nothing but fool’s gold. Stop wasting our time by telling us what Republicans should do, and then sitting it out or voting third party. If you like a third party, go there and stay there.

what’s done is done. The facts are that there are too many people that have bought into the propaganda. A single vote no longer counts, I quit too. It’s not worth saving,

You have read my mind. It seems pointless to vote against vested interests time after time. If you, like me, are sick and tired of this, maybe we need to pay careful attention to the words of our Founding Fathers: “When in the course of human events....”

Also, I’d like to hear more about taking money off shore to protect it.

Many years ago I was the only breadwinner in our family, we were deep in debt, and I had 3 young boys to support. I decided to take a leap of faith and start doing business offshore. That was a decision that I've never regretted, and it's allowing me to put those three boys through college today.

In my case it wasn't money I tood offshore, but rather it was business.

I’m giving up listening to Levin , Hannity , Rush ..They are now irrelevant and pointless . I’m embarrassed today to be an American and if I had the means I’d move somewhere else , I swear to God I would.
I’m deleting Drudge and FR after today too. What;s there to read about any more anyway ? I don’t need to see the pointless arguing not do I need to read the gruesome details of the dismantling of this country. People are F-ing stupid beyond words.

But also remeber in revoltionary Russia only a small percentage supported the bolsheviks. They took power by force and by exploiting the weakness and softness of the Czar.

The NEA and Media will assure they never will, now.

In three years, I expect breathless reports, like "Dear Leader made seven holes-in-one today!" "He made the trains" run on time."

Daily reports in the "news" about the latest death tolls from the epidemic of Gun-Owner Typhus".

“The danger to America is not Barack Obama but a citizenry capable of entrusting a man like him with the Presidency. It will be far easier to limit and undo the follies of an Obama presidency than to restore the necessary common sense and good judgment to a depraved electorate willing to have such a man for their president.”

Come on man, they are just printing money now.

By the Billions every month, soon to be trillions - wonder why everything is more expensive?
The only way to stop this is with impeachment and there is no chance of that ever happening

(sorry for language Don...off the reservation tonight)

I am not per se, opposed to vulgarity or profanity. Time and place for everything. This is surely the time.

Myself, on Sept 12, the company I worked for for the past 23 years announced they were closing us down effective Nov 12. This is a direct result of a major portion of the printing we do being sent to Mexico and China.

I was planning on retirement in three years, but now will advance the date and begin to live off fixed income - SS, pension, savings - as long as I am allowed to keep them and as long as funny money holds together some semblance of an economy.

Israel of old was given wicked rulers when they abandoned God and spurned His way for them. It probably cannot be proved, but I doubt that their sins included the slaughter of 50,000,000 of their own children.

There have been two specific times in my life when I had great hope that our rush to destruction could be halted. First was in the late 1980's when thousands heroically were jailed for blockading abortion mills. The church wilted when the gov't came with RICO.

The second was 9/11. I had hope that the shock and horror of the attack on our soil would drive us to an examination of our national spiritual condition. Even Abe Lincoln called for prayer and fasting after his Union army suffered defeat.

That, of course did not happen in 2000.

It's a bad situation - no doubt; but we can't say we have not been warned by history. See tagline. (It's from a Dylan song)
