Survey: Evangelical Voters for Romney Overshadowed by Youth, Minorities for Obama
The Christian Post ^ | November 8, 2012 | Alex Murashko

Posted on 11/08/2012 6:33:16 AM PST by HokieMom

Evangelical Christian voters turned out in record numbers according to a national post-election survey done by the Faith and Freedom Coalition. However, despite a 78 to 21 percent split in favor of Mitt Romney among white evangelicals, the coalition's leader implied that Barack Obama's win was catapulted by votes from youths and minorities.

"Evangelicals turned out in record numbers and voted as heavily for Mitt Romney yesterday as they did for George W. Bush in 2004," said Ralph Reed, chairman of Faith and Freedom Coalition. "That is an astonishing outcome that few would have predicted even a few months ago. But Romney underperformed with younger voters and minorities and that in the end made the difference for Obama."

Thanks for posting that. It is exactly how I figured, but there is a bunch of nonsense out there about how Christians refused to vote for a Mormon, so it is all their fault Romney lost. I figured that was bunk.

We are simply outnumbered by ...

* The gimme cult
* The race cult
* The vagina cult
* The sodom cult
* The drug cult
* The entertainment cult
* The cult of Marx
* The democrat cult

It’s a formidable coalition that seems to be growing every day.

Well the morons youth & minorities went for ODumbo he got the college students to go out and vote in droves, but they will not have jobs when they graduate, and I hope their parents will not take them in, as they thumb their noses at their parents, take their money, allow them to pay outrageous tuition fees to go to godless colleges where they are brainwashed, and then they think they can take even more advantage of their soft-hearted moms and dads!!! It makes me sick!!!

If you’re on facebook, I suggest ‘liking’ the Christian Post for some very insightful reporting from the Evangelical community.

This cannot be true because Romney got 2 million votes less than mccain did.

Wonder where we got that idea?

This may have something to do with that assessment.

Well the fact is that Romney got less votes than McCain. Where did those votes go? Not to Obama. Spin it however you want but I'd bet they turned out in 2008 because of the genuine Evangelical conservative on the ticket named Sarah Palin.

Indeed! Forgive the omission, and please include them in the list.

Also forgot the labor union cult. It’s covered by the cult of Marx, but it’s big enough to warrant specific categorization.

The important question is why did Romney get less votes than McCain. Romney would’ve won if he just got the same votes as McCain. Where did those votes go?

how are we outnumbered??? if Romney got the same number of votes as GWB in ‘04 then yes, i agree with you...but ayatollah obama didn’t even pull in that many votes..

Not sure why it makes any sense to compare the evangelical vote to the youth and minority vote combined. Some are definitely obsessed with voting blocs.

Some of McCain’s former voters are deceased, however there supposedly were 10-15 percent of Barack’s former fans who turned sour on him and that should have at least equaled the dead GOP voters (unlike Democrats, they don’t keep voting from the hereafter).

We eventually warmed up to Mitt here, but ennui continued to reign where it counted.

Nationally just doesn’t matter. It was in the KEY STATES that the turnout counted.

Republicans turned out BETTER on Ohio in 2012, than in 2008, by at least 85,000.

Dem turnout was down 15,000.

It’s not that Repubs didn’t show up in the key states, it’s that the Dems ground game was far better, despite the Romney Campaign’s historic ground game.

USING SOCIAL MEDIA, they were able to round up enough voters to win, in the key ohio counties, in the last few hours.

I can tell you for a FACT that the Romney Campaign thought they had this thing WON about 3PM, based on historic R turnouts, in Ohio.

The bad link says 6 million. It's definitely not 25 million and I doubt it's six million. The environmental evangelicals is probably a pretty small group.
