Christie calls Obama to congratulate him, sends Romney an e-mail

I don’t know, guys. I just don’t know.

“We didn’t have a political strategy discussion. I said, `Congratulations on your win last night, Mr. President,’ and he said, `Thank you,”’ Christie told reporters today at a National Guard Armory in Franklin Township…

Asked if he’s spoken to Romney since his loss, Christie said: “No; we exchanged e-mails last night,” Christie said. “We haven’t spoken on the phone yet.”

One of Romney’s biggest fundraisers told WaPo (anonymously), “A lot of people feel like Christie hurt, that we definitely lost four or five points between the storm and Chris Christie giving Obama a chance to be bigger than life.”

I can’t stand Christie. I’m sick and tired of these NE Liberal RINOs imposing their Liberal ideology on the rest of the GOP Party. That is exactly why Brown got beat!

Christie needed to learn a lesson from Giuliani post 9-11. Yes he graciously accepted assistance from President Bush but he took charge and didnt trail Bush around like a whining puppy. Christie knew how the media would spin his lavish praise of Obama and he kept feeding the beast new material. He couldn’t snub the President but he didn’t have to make him hi BFF.

What do Judas Iscariot, Benedict Arnold and Chris Christie have in common?

Christie allowed himself to be used. Where is giving his state the worst president ever considered ‘looking out for your state’?

Cuomo/NY (D) didn’t meet with him and he will be the next one looking to be president and he doesn’t have that taint on him. Christie is the one who is politically clueless, not freepers.

Keep in the mind, this is a few days before people went to the polls. Christie had an excellent reason not to met him with his state in that disaster. Any business needed for his state would take a few minutes on the phone. The state is still in that disaster - Barry is partying. There were tons of pictures to prove NJ needed help - there was NO reason Christie needed to met with barry to get help for his state.

This is like two boys with a massive amount of homework and one kid looking to be class president asked them both to come and play awhile and that he has a popular rock singer with him. One kid says I can’t, I have too much work and the other kid says I’ll go play for a few hours. Who is the responsible one, who is the political savvy one and who was used and not responsible to his own duties.

One showed confidence and doesn’t need anyone and one is less sure of himself and needs connections and jumped at the chance. Cuomo will be president before Christie realizes he ruined his own chances because of his need/inner turmoil. He was saying I don’t have what it takes, I need connections. Christie went to 100 concerts of Bruce, seems he wanted to fit in and be part of the hip crowd. The man needs to grow up and not out.

He is not disciplined even to stay home and do his homework. His weigh shows his lack of discipline. A big mouth is not a sign of confidence. We all saw what a big wuss he is.

And the other guy got what he wanted by using the undisciplined one, the one who wanted to go out and play but he felt hip, he met Bruce. Wait until I tell my friends!! Christie is the biggest teenager I ever saw.

Christie is a major RINO. Everyone knows that. Or at least, everyone now does.

The rinos have tried everything but principles and learning how to fight.

They KNOW how to fight - amongst themselves and not with the enemy! Exception is Gov Palin - she'll take on corruption from any side of the aisle while encouraging others to always to do the right thing. No crony capitalism w/Palin. So they fight w/her!

No one owns her and she owes no one. And that is exactly the opposite of politicians with I'll scratch your back as you scratch mine while not living up to what they said to their supporters. Campaigning they are always looking for political support from their cronies and too stupid to know it doesn't mean a flip.

So Sarah will always be odd man out because she doesn't play the political game. That's what it is to these beltway BOYS. What politician, what entertainment can I get to WOW them to show how great I am. Photo ops with 'who's who'. Utterly and simply assassin! It's all about them and who they can deceive and NOT AMERICA!

More than half of American citizens are in deception once again. What needs to happen but won't - voters need to grow up but the media's/TV job is to keep them stupid. They did their job with all their stations spewing propaganda and avoiding the truth. The voters are too busy with their toys and TV while the adults are working to pay for those toys. Nothing will change, laziness is too comfortable to give up and the media keeps them on the couch while they think they are being educated.

Excellent comment GBA!!!! This is the Republican Party that prefers a NJ Progressive Rat-faced, Islam loving, statist Repub like CC to the TeaParty crowd that gave them the US House when they were wandering in the wilderness. This party is now going to try to out hispander the Left and drive out all Conservatives...the GOP-E should be shovel ready soon.

My reading: "I did not call Romney, because I knew he would be unavailable."

Your reading skills are right on! "But my friend would be available."

Why the NEED to tell anyone he spoke with barry? Like telling he met Bruce and got teary-eyed after he met him. His big mouth got him somewhere but his teenage attitude hanging out with the wrong crowd at the wrong time brought him down. The kid has no streets smarts, they used him.

We are like parents of that teenager. 'Oh what promise my boy had and he blew it.'

A democrat would never have done any such thing

YOU are right! Gov Cuomo/NY didn't. BOTH going through the same disaster and the republican took the bait!

He’ll switch to Dem because that’s his only path to the White House now.

No! Gov Cuomo (D) who said 'no' to the swine will beat him to the WH. No one likes a traitor and they would treat Christie like they treated Arlen Specter after they used him. Christie has a mouth but no street smarts. The community organizer from Chicago played the fat boy from NJ like a fiddle.

However, to think that Christie was jockeying for anything beyond federal assistance to pick up the pieces of NJ is obtuse.

Doesn’t he know that is what the phone is for? Plus tons of pictures and TV of the event is proof help was needed. Why doesn’t Christie know what the democrat Gov in NY does - BOTH with the same event at the same time. And the (D) Gov. said no and Gov Christie (R) said yes. It can’t be any clearer than that to see Christie is a wreck politically and is dumb as rocks as he took the bait and America suffers for his asinine decision.

I can see him switching to Dem and getting Arlen Specter’d. Would serve him right.

My friend, I have no answers for it. At this point, after watching the debacle we witnessed, anything is possible...

Either way, unless the RINOs somehow manage to resurrect him, I think Christie is finished to conservatives. Who knows how much impact this really had on Romney’s chances - especially with the rampant and well-organized fraud that was put in place. It could only do harm, not good.

“..Christie knew how the media would spin his lavish praise of Obama and he kept feeding the beast new material...”

Spot on, I’d say. So, again, his motive? A pres run in 2016, which couldn’t happen if Romney was in there? Re-election by pandering to the dems in his own state?

Hard to say what is going on in another person’s heart and head. Unless he comes out and explains it honestly, we’ll never know.

Either way, though, he’s toast.
