Petraeus to Try to ‘Put Life Back Together’ Before Any Benghazi Testimony

The ranking Republican on the Senate Intelligence Committee said he’s spoken to former CIA Director David Petraeus about still testifying on the Benghazi attack — and the answer is not now.

Sen. Saxby Chambliss (R-Ga.) said on ABC’s This Week this morning that his committee wasn’t told about the Petraeus investigation — reportedly centering around his mistress and emails — until Friday, when the general’s resignation was announced.

“He and I have already had a conversation. You know, he’s trying to put his life back together right now and that’s what he needs to focus on,” Chambliss said in regard to Thursday’s closed-door Benghazi hearing, at which Petraeus was supposed to testify.

An outrageous thing for him to say on Veterans Day.

It is outrageous on any day.

I could care less what is going on in his personal life. A patriot would consider it his duty to get to the bottom of why four Americans, two who were hired by the CIA, are dead. Those two died trying to save an Ambassador and others associated with both the State dept and the CIA. THese were his men! He is "leaving them behind", essentially.

Chambliss has to be one of the dumbest aholes— in that billionaire’s club. Here he just nearly lost his Senate seat, and he’s playing nice, instead of demanding.... after what is apparently more than 5 months of this internal blackmailing/owning of Petraeus....that the said disgraced general come in and tesify to the American people on JUST how we had an ambassador killed. The first in 33 years.

OH, and also, why are we arming alqaeda in Syria, and allowing the Quadaffi opposition which was Libyan al Qaeda to go to Syria and fight. How idiotic is this entire policy? Fast and Furious, Middle East division. And more Americans are going to be killed. Thanks obamao.

Quadaffi and Mubarak were both real old and would have died. This is the Muslim president helping his masters.
