The FBI probe into the sex scandal that prompted CIA Director David Petraeus to resign has expanded to ensnare Gen. John R. Allen, the commander of U.S. and NATO troops in Afghanistan, the Pentagon announced early Tuesday.
According to a senior U.S. defense official, the FBI has uncovered between 20,000 and 30,000 documents — most of them e-mails — of “potentially inappropriate” communications between Allen and Jill Kelley, a 37-year-old Tampa woman whose close relationship with Petraeus ultimately led to his downfall.
Allen, a Marine, succeeded Petraeus as the top allied commander in Afghanistan in July 2011. He also served as Petraeus’s deputy when both generals led the military’s Tampa-based Central Command from 2008 until 2010.
The FBI first notified the Pentagon of its investigation into Allen’s communications with Kelley on Sunday evening, according to the senior defense official, who spoke on condition of anonymity to discuss details of the pending case.
In response, Pentagon chief Leon E. Panetta referred the investigation on Monday to the Defense Department’s Inspector General for further review, according to a statement released by Panetta early Tuesday as he was traveling to Australia.

Yes, AnAmericanAbroad, I do know about Maronite and Coptic Christians.... I have traveled in the Middle East. And notice that I didn't say that the Khawam family was Muslem. I just said they were from Lebanon. They perhaps have family still in Lebanon who might be threatened. I know my Coptic Christian friends in Egypt are under great threats right now. Basically, I was pointing out that this may be another factor in such suspicious circumstances.

It amazes me how the FBI missed classified documents in the ruins of benghazi, but they can digging up all this dirt on decorated hereos. What do we believe?

I stopped watching the news after tues ( couldn’t take it) so am getting caught up with this. None of it makes sense....and it all looks like a take down to me. When the hell is there going to be push back against Obama?clearly what happened in Benghazi is some serious $hit if they are taking out high ranking military to keep them quiet. Can’t one high ranking military guy go kick his ass?

The Clinton people are trying their hardest to make this a massive sex scandal to keep it from being about Benghazi.
They know that sex is a way to cover up a lot of other junk. (Ex: Remember how Clinton's thing became all about sex rather than obstruction of justice and perjury?).

They're digging for a crime. Petraeus' affair was after he left his military post (no crime) so now they're trying to pin an affair on another high-level military man still in the service so they can attach a criminal probe to the the whole thing.
It stinks.
