Won’t it just be easier for him to say, if you don’t lock step march with me you are crazy?
Doing that sure would save him some time.

I actually support secession at this point; however, I realize those petitions are useless plus I figure anyone signing something like that could end up finding themselves on the “no buy” list next time they fill out a 4473 and do a NICS check.

FEMA? Is that really what Glen is going to jump the shark over?

I’m not ready to give up on America yet.

I think you're missing the point of this idea.

Why are they crazy?
Evey state (citizens of the state) has the right to petition the federal government for a whole variety of reason, so why are they crazy?

I think they're crazy, to, for signing a petition from which they can be easily tracked. I prefer to think of it not as secession, but as a dissolution of the political bonds that (used to) bind us all together as Americans.

It is clear to me that liberals and conservatives no longer agree, even remotely, on what the America Experiment and Dream and Constitution are. I believe it is in the interest of both sides to go their separate ways.

Yes he said it right on the air. Couldn't believe it. Turned the radio off immediately.

I guess we'll find out. I have a stripped AR lower coming to my FFL right now...

I'm on a few of those petitions.

I think a lot of people are currently very angry. Maybe this will help them vent, and then they can come back to reality.

You know, that’s actually a pretty good point, that “live without FEMA” thing. Look at all the folks in the Hurricane Sandy area who could not live without FEMA for three days. When you have no water, no food, only the clothes on your back, no cash, no credit card, no car, no nothing - then you need FEMA within three days. So what does it take to get into that condition?

It’s not so unusual for folks to not have more than three days of water, or even food, and if your house is destroyed, it’s easy to get there. But for somebody to have no cash and no credit and no resources at all, it sounds like they were dependent on the government in the first place. If you were living day to day, and from government check to govt check, when the rug gets pulled out from under you, there’s nothing left.

Somebody needs to ask Beck if a state *CAN* live without FEMA, does that make the idea of secession okay, or is there some other criteria next?

And that means what?
A citizen should not do what they beleive to be correct because they live in fear?
Beck is back on the bottle, he really has become irrational.

As much as I don’t like the outcome of the election, I’m not ready to give up on America yet.

Apparently, it's much easier & preferable to bitch & moan instead of doing the real work.

It was a childish tantrum when the democrats did it in 04 and its a childish tantrum now.

The only difference is that Bush had no interest or intent to punish the democrats for doing it.

I didn’t hear the fema thing. The part I heard made me think he called them crazy because he was leary about handing one’s name into the Obama regime. It would be interesting to see if there is a higher % of irs audits and other fed investigations among people who signed it in the coming years.

You are correct! I mean how could a bunch of malcontented far right hot heads ever hope to defeat the strongest country in the world. One with the best navy and army and…and… Wait a minute it has been done before. Nevermind.......

Our ancestors created this country with axes and flintlock smooth bores. They were giants, we are pimples.

With Plentiful energy and food, the Central States of America can barter for anything else the may want.

This fantasy was true 150 years ago maybe. Today? Are you going to barter for farm subsidies too? These secessionists need a serious reality check.

Some perspective:

Executive Order 12127
President Carter’s 1979 executive order merged many of the separate disaster-related responsibilities into the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA).

As of October 8, 2011, FEMA has 7,474 employees across the country
