The message got the attention of the Secret Service and her employer, Cold Stone Creamery. She was promptly fired and the company spent much of Thursday responding to angry tweets about the womans post, FOX40 reports.
This employee is no longer w/the (sic) company & her disgraceful and completely unacceptable comments do not reflect our views, the company tweeted via its official Twitter account.
Helms had deleted her post and deactivated her Facebook account, but the damage was done. What may be even more disturbing than her post, is the fact that she initially didnt appear to be remorseful at all.
I dont understand what I did wrong, she told FOX40.
However, she later admitted that what she said was wrong. Helms also argued that she is not a racist and said she doesnt really want Obama to be assassinated because, after all, he does have two kids.
I think I was just really upset, and (the post) just kind of came out, Helms said.
Denise Helms, of Turlock, Calif., reportedly set the post to private on her Facebook page, but someone snapped an image and put it on Twitter.
This woman is an idiot.
Now its time to apply the same standards to the haters on the left, who are much more numerous I fear.
Ok, I’ll say it. She’s a racist idiot. Hate obama because he’s an incompetent marxist tool, not because he happens to be black. He’d be just as worthless if he was white. Like Jimmy Carter, for example.
I have often thought that iff Obama were white, he probably would have been assasinated.
Face book? Isn’t that a part of muslims media corporation?
Nothings private anymore, folks.
Yeah, kinda dug your own grave there honey.
fired for her stupidity...
sheesh.
t
The Secret Service doesn’t have a sense of humor about these things.
How did her employer get involved though? If I had an employee that brought negative attention to my business, I’d can her too.
One does not speak against our great leader of Amerika, comrade.
Especially if you post it on the web.
Not saying what she said was right, buuuuuuuttt...why is it that everyone goes insane with this shit, posted by a woman who was clearly distraught on FACEBOOK, where I have certainly seen worse than this or on DailyKos and Bill “the smirking midget” Maher can call Sarah Palin a C***T on a nationally televised cable show and nothing? I mean ... NOTHING happens?
You don’t think the press is trying to inflame any particular voting block, do you?
“The personal life is dead in America...history has killed it.”
She is wrong but what about all the racist Black tweets from people saying they would assinate Romney? Never read about that drawing the secret service’s attention.
Especially if you post it on the internet for 7 billion people to see.
Well she is getting death threats now.
And what about the folks on Twitter threatening the Republican presidential candidate?
Any arrests?
Replace "Obama" with "Bush" and this never becomes news.
But I don't see any way to halt the slide into the abyss at this point other than civil war - or a properly coordinated counter-counter-revolution.
Most of us desperately want to avoid conflict but time and opportunity are ticking away. So maybe if we are lucky they'll just put us into re-eduction camps?
The nerve of her, - - hating Obama as much as he hates us!!
A little knowledge of Latin and a bit of history, and she could have gotten away with it.
Even if you think only your 'friends' will see it because you set your FB account to 'private'.
I agree she is wrong to be so vulgar, but it sounds like she was hot headed after the election results and let it fly. Her fault because someone did see it and snapped a picture.
Well it is freedom of Speech.
The freedom of speech does not protect one from the repercussions of its misuse.
Something I learned a long time ago, back in the usenet days. I draft my posts in notepad, read carefully and, most often, delete without posting. But ALWAYS think, THINK before hitting that SEND button.
At least she didn’t run over anyone.
Another Usenetter, eh? It reminds me of the days of my Everex 300 bps dialup modem to a POP to connect to the Internet, long before the term "www" became part of the vocabulary.
The only difference is that I used (and still use) vi instead of notepad to prepare my posts, many of which never got beyond the /tmp directory and quite properly ended up in /dev/null. :-)
Exactly. YAWN. Get back to me when the leftist scum are held to the same standard.
It does for leftists, apparently.
Man, - - if she’s getting that many threats over simply makin’ a hotheaded statement, - - just imagine what these same people would want to do to her if she was responsible for the deaths of 4 Americans, - - oh, - - wait a minute . . .
They will use her as an example to make it sound like all Republicans think the way she does.
Exactly right.
I’m thoroughly sick of people acting as though using the “n-word” is the same as committing murder. How could it be, when blacks use it among themselves?
There are pejorative slang terms for just about every race and nationality on the face of the planet. Using ANY of them is not nice nor polite, but enough of the breathless outrage over the “n-word”; it’s no worse than any of those other pejorative words.
How did her employer get involved though?
= = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = =
All the Coldstone Creamery stores I have seen have just a few employees on duty at one time and are basically in the public view.
I would also have to let her go no matter what my politics, as I would surely let someone go that did the ‘same’ inre an “R” candidate.
Of course the ACLU would be at my doorstep etc if it were a “D” supporter dissing an “R” and Jessie and his boyz would be picketing my store if a ‘canned employee’ were of a particular persuasion etc etc etc .....
Probably figure the SS would interview at ‘work’ so as to get maximum effect....
Um, Facebook private??? Really???
FBI will be raiding her house and seizing property in 4...3...2...
I can’t believe she was stupid enough to put this on the internet.
She could have made a movie about him getting assassinated, and that would have been okay, in fact praised.
She could have put a likeness of his head on a pike in an award winning cable network’s video presentation.
How dare she! I am offended...
I do think the “N” word was over the top, certainly not illegal. She didn’t advocate for the assassination. She didn’t ever state it would be a good idea.
She pondered an event that might or might no take place.
The “N” word is used by some people constantly, and it’s not considered racist at all.
These double, triple, quadruple standard situations really do need to end.
Whoa - stupid AND guilty.
Was she arrested?
As I said, nothing's private.
I don’t care what she called him. She can call him every name in the book, for all I care. Good for her. He’s a worthless POS.
It’s never permanently gone...
That is a good quote. Where is it from?
