Obama to McCain: You can’t stop Susan Rice from being Secretary of State
Washington Examiner ^ | 11/14/2012 | Joel Gehrke

President Obama, irritated by Republican pledges to prevent Ambassador to the United Nations Susan Rice from receiving a promotion, said that Rice’s critics “have a problem with me.”

“When they go after the UN ambassador apparently because they think she’s an easy target, then they’ve got a problem with me,” Obama told reporters today. “And should I choose — if I think that she would be the best person to serve America in the capacity of the State Department [head] then I will nominate her, but that’s not a determination I’ve made yet.”

Obama was responding to a press conference held by three GOP senators this morning. “We will do whatever’s necessary to block the nomination that’s within our power as far as Susan Rice is concerned,” Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz., told reporters today during a press conference on Capitol Hill. McCain faulted Rice for saying that the Benghazi terrorist attack grew out of a spontaneous protest against an anti-Islam Youtube video.

In high school we called people like this punks and called their bluff. Now we have a punk as president.

For pete’s sake, when will Freepers stop criticizing elected officials when they actually do something GOOD?

It doesn’t matter what they’ve done before: encourage them to stay the course on this one and really fight.

People can have a change of heart, at least on one issue, and I think Obama’s actions have been so blatantly anti-American and evil that even some of the reach-across-the-aisle types and possibly even some Dems are getting uneasy.

Criticize their bad actions, but encourage the good.

Nope!

He’s not qualified for that job either.

Recess appointment...well, this would be a pretty outrageous one, but then, he’s never been stopped before.

>>Play the black card all you want what’s the worse they can do now?

He can give us the full Blackocracy and they can preside over the crash. Then, we can rise up from the ashes and make Biden’s prediction come true.

Republicans will reach across the aisle, or Obama will make her a czar and bypass confirmation altogether.

No! 2/3rds is needed for treaties and constitutional amendments. Only a majority is needed to confirm an appointee. If McCain can organize 41 GOPers to filibuster then he can stop the nomination from proceeding, but I doubt he could get 20. Of course if things had turned out we’d have the majority but Akin and Mourdock killed that as did losing in Dakota and Montana and Mass. That would have been 3 pickups and two holds. Alas it was not meant to be, still it’s nice to see McCain show a biy of the old fire.

Republicans don't have the fortitude to see any threats through to completion, and everyone else knows it.

They must all be in it together. How anyone can be in the same room with Obama and not hurl themselves at his head- is beyond understanding.

I have no faith in John McCain to do anything. None of them are going to do anything. They are all along for a ride on the gravy train.

It is us against them.

I suppose that the Republicans could ask her to explain why she went on all the tv shows and claimed that the movie was responsible for the Benghazi attack, who told her to say that, where she got her information?

My, how they reveal the truths about themselves! Of course we have a problem with EVERYONE who lied (lies)!

We DO have a problem with you Obama? You’re president, not king you a$$!@#$. We aren’t intimidated by you either. Rice’s nomination needs to be blocked, and senate Republicans need to show some spine for once and DO IT.

didn’t Susan Rice create the “wall” that prevented the CIA from telling the FBI about the 9-11 terrorists??

No, that was Jamie Gorelick you are thinking about, but Rice is just as corrupt.
