The effort to repeal has two strikes against it, from SCOTUS and from the recent election. So while the task is more difficult, the game is by no means over. Remember that it took 13 years to repeal Prohibition. But also remember that the Medicare Catastrophic Coverage Act was repealed within 6 months of being implemented.
