After the 9/11/2012 murders of four Americans in Benghazi, Libya, the Obama Administration was in full covereup mode. They required that someone go on five 9/16/2012 Sunday talk shows to make the case that our diplomats had died because of a YouTube video and not a terrorist attack.
The Administration did not want to pick an individual familiar with any aspect of Benghazi. He or she would have been subjected to challenging questioning (?) beginning with, "What did you know and when did you know it?"
So United Nations Ambassador Susan Rice was trotted out. Her relatively clean hands allowed her to present a false narrative and get away with it. Today, anyone with a lick of sense knows that she (however innocent) was the carrier of the YouTube lie.
President Obama will not even nominate Susan Rice for the position of Secretary of State for the simple reason that at the confirmation hearing, she would be grilled under oath about who briefed her (provided her with the YouTube lie) before her Sunday talk show appearances, the exact conditions of the briefing, and the extent to which she suspected that she had been chosen to propagate a lie. Her testimony would at the very least juice the scandal by sparking interest in the names of the officials who provided her with the lie and the names of the superiors who approved it.
She has been floated as a possible Secretary of State to give the President the opportunity to tar her critics as racists and sexists and to conceal the fact that she will not be nominated.

I agree - Obummer thinks he can do whatever he wants. The other fallacy in this article is “she would be grilled under oath about....” since when has being under oath ever meant anything to this crowd. They couldn’t tell the truth if JC himself were standing in front of them.
Obama acted tough during that news contest, but he won’t nominate her. Obama made the conscience decision to discard her and her career the day he asked her to spread the lies about the YouTube video. All his bravado was to have a bunch of female Obamaite Congresswomen carry the torch from then on. He won’t mention it again. He has no problem using those around or beneath him to further his agenda. Goodbye Ms.Rice!
I think the author is right. She'd have to testify under oath in her confirmation hearings about who sent her out with the ridiculous video story, and Obama doesn't want to risk that.

How this ends up will be a sign of whether they’ve drugged him enough to at times offset his malignant narcissism. If not, he’ll nominate her just as a stick in everyone’s eye.

There might be more legal implications under oath in a confirmation hearing. She’s obviously not going to take the blame herself and the regime has run out of other people willing to accept the blame (although they may have a long shot if Hillary never comes back to the US...).
And I can’t believe she’d get away with saying that she just didn’t know why she said it! Something just came over her. Poor little her. That might be a bit much even for our ever-credulous senators.

I agree with you. If Obama doesn’t nominate her, then that will look like there is something to this “Benghazi thing”.
Also, do we really think any questions regarding Benghazi will be allowed? Or, the real question, are there any Republican senators who have the guts to even ask her about it? I doubt it.
I nominate her as Ambassador to Libya.

I hope so...but maybe they’ll still be too busy looking for the current SOS. I guess she plans to send in her resignation from some foreign clime. This whole thing is such a mess.
Frankly, I don’t see how Hillary can be allowed to cruise around indefinitely evading the committee, with absolutely no penalty and not even much criticism. But I guess that would mean that I would be expecting sanity, something that is long gone from our government.
Oh...I forgot to mention the worst speculation: prepping the lovely Michelle as the Dem candidate for 2016. But with people like Rice, Holder and the current, allegedly male Obama in charge, we probably won’t even exist as a country by 2016. Some consolation.
I think that is correct. And further, I don't think she'll be grilled on Benghazi. At all. Who on the Right side has any balls to do that? The other side will have their ducks in a row for any confirmation hearings...just as they did for the most recent election.

I respectfully disagree. He already told mccain to pound sand. o knows full well that if she should face a confirmation hearing, she will only be asked softball questions, i.e, “Do you think that Greece should withdraw from the EU?” Anything more probing will be deemed racist.

He’ll nominate her because:
1) She didn’t know anything about Benghazi at the time she was told to lie; and
2) Obama is too much of a megalomaniac to allow Graham and McCain to win; and
3) She’s a black woman.
I had thought about the confirmation hearings. It might even be worth the nomination (as long as she did not get the votes).

I would accept the nomination....except for the following reasons;

On The Journal Editorial Report they discussed Susan Rice and seemed to think the Democrats would rally to her defense if she is nominated. That is contrary to the column by Dana Milbank (which appeared after the JER was taped, I think). Milbank thinks Rice has a lot of enemies on the Democratic side.
