Israel decided to refrain from a ground invasion of Gaza after it was warned that such a move could spell the end of the peace agreements with Egypt and Jordan, Channel 2 reported Thursday.

According to the report, Mossad Head Tamir Pardo, who went to Cairo as Israel's representative in the contacts that preceded the ceasefire, was told in messages from Cairo and from Washington that the peaceful relations between Israel, Jordan and Egypt were at risk.

Only lasting peace is achieved through thorough defeat of one side.

Example: US defeating Germany & Japan so conclusively, a permanent peace emerged. The adversaries of WWII have not fought ever since!

OTOH every negotiated cease-fire has proved to be temporary.
If Israel wants peace it has only one option...complete and total defeat & destruction of the enemy.

History is your best teacher. Those who ignore history are doomed to repeat it.

Israel should arrange for an accident to befall the Suez Canal and the Aswan Dam.

A Seventh Century civilization doesn't need 'em anyway.

The only country in that part of the world that cares on iota about peace is Israel.

The day is coming when Israel will have to deal with Egypt and Hamas, as a prelude to destroying Iran’s nuclear capability.
The later will likely come in the form of setting back the culture a few decades.

That should worry Egypt and Jordan more than Israel.

“Only lasting peace is achieved through thorough defeat of one side.”

You speak the truth! Name one conflict since WWII that has achieved anything but a continuing stalemate and protracted killing. We have chosen “not to win” every time we have gone to war since. We left Korea worse than when we started there, SEA, don’t see anything good there. Bosnia, nope, Iraq, a waste of treasure and the lives of our young men, Afghanistan, ditto. It’s a disgraceful record!
