MEMPHIS, Tenn. (AP) It was a brazen and surprisingly long-lived scheme, authorities said, to help aspiring public school teachers cheat on the tests they must pass to prove they are qualified to lead their classrooms.
For 15 years, teachers in three Southern states paid Clarence Mumford Sr. himself a longtime educator to send someone else to take the tests in their place, authorities said. Each time, Mumford received a fee of between $1,500 and $3,000 to send one of his test ringers with fake identification to the Praxis exam. In return, his customers got a passing grade and began their careers as cheaters, according to federal prosecutors in Memphis.

It was at that point that I realized that any election voting coming out of these areas was meaningless other than to steal elections. The moral shallowness is shocking. Ethics are nothing to the urban dwellers.
I notice that the Washington Examiner delicately avoids posting Clarence’s picture, and instead posts the picture of a white man (director of the Center for Educational Testing and Evaluation) talking about the problem of test fraud.
I bookmarked this story with “electionfraud” because the mentality is so closely linked. There are sections of our population that are truly destroying our country.
Weird. Either the title search doesn’t work or I’m not using it properly.
I wish it wasn't so freaking predictable.
It isn’t hard to make the decision that one feels the public school system is an utter and complete failure. It’s intention, from the START and based on Dewey’s teachings, was the destruction of our system of government and to use our children to do it. Well, now it has come to fruition and most of us are scratching our heads and wondering “How did this happen?”
It’s not too late to change it, but the people must do it. If the government won’t abolish the Dept. of Ed and forbid federal interference, then it is incumbent on the states to exercise their 10th amendment rights and REFUSE any input from them, AND the damn money. State universities should be made to do away with degrees in “education” and all control of the schools should be local. Kick out all interference by the unions; make ALL elementary schools “neighborhood” schools; make the intelligent assumption that not ALL kids should go to college and re-vamp the technical and vocational schools. Re-introduce the basics and do away with “multi-cultural” garbage.
We know what needs to be done. Who has the courage to do it?
Private or home school your children before it is against the law.
Public schools won't even teach about the founding fathers of our country because they are White people. Political correctness is killing our country....very rapidly. It's measurable by the number of people who vote for Democrats.
And after libs make private schools and home schooling (and they will) illegal, then what?
Didn’t they learn anything from Atlanta’s fiasco?
Yes. Maybe, some of the governors who are refusing to create state insurance exchanges might have the courage to ignore federal education edicts.
In the end, the only way we get our country back may be for 3/5 of it to ignore Washington and its money.
Heh. You put "learn" in a comment about modern teachers. Now, that's funny.
“Public schools won’t even teach about the founding fathers of our country because they are White people. Political correctness is killing our country....very rapidly. It’s measurable by the number of people who vote for Democrats.”
Gramsci, although he was communist, was right about some things.
We are soon approaching a point-of-no-return insofar as the youth of the nation are concerned. There will be too many sufficiently indoctrinated for us to make a difference any longer.
We saw the first warnings of that with this past election.
A relatively easy way to stop this type of cheating is to take a thumbprint of the test taker and compare it with the applicant.
“The pressure of passing the test could make people do things they normally would not do” So, it is the fault of the test for leading and causing these folks to cheat, is it? Poor things. Victims again.
I met John Stormer at a JBS gathering in 1993 and he autographed by 60's edition of his book None Dare Call It Treason and in a subsequent chat with him he told me, very painfully, son, "we've already lost."
That was in 1993.
Odungo would say, I would want a teacher just like him
Photo ID is important for testing teachers too
...so are they going to go after 15 years of back taxes?
“I wish it wasn’t so freaking predictable.”
There seems to be a certain segment of society that has absolutely no basic concept of right and wrong, just doing whatever it takes to manipulate the system.
Even worse is their offspring, who become amoral sociopaths. The “Knock Out Game” for example.
I’m a bit confused by this, because when you take a PRAXIS, they do require you to have photo identification WHEN YOU SIGN IN and AS THEY PASS TESTS out. Don’t see how this could be happening unless the ETS employees were in on it too.
Of course, I’m the type of teacher that passes the PRAXIS above the 85% percentile and gets a shiny little excellence certificate with my scores.
The high cost of college is giving some parents the courage to look at vocational schools for their teens. Young adults who have learned a trade can earn their own way through college if they decide to further their education.
In the 70s, education majors were told that they did not need to learn the subject matter for what they were going to teach - that they would be facilitators and help the students ‘discover’ the subject matter. That’s why we now have so many IGNORANT teachers and IGNORANT students.

This is just one scam that has been uncovered. How many have not?
And....Remember. These are the people indoctrinating the next generation of voters.
Presumably part of the "service" includes fake IDs for the operatives. All they need is a name to put on it. The operative just moves around and shows a different name on the ID each time he or she takes the test.

Yeah, I hope all of his “operatives” get nailed and thrown in jail too. This is playing with students’ futures. The PRAXIS is not too difficult to pass but you must be competent. I passed the history PRAXIS even though I was an English major.
We see these statements frequently ( local control and end of federal interference). While absolutely better than what we have now it is not enough.
**Please**, can I persuade you to see this differently? All government owned and run socialist-entitlement schooling must be abolished. We must begin the process. Why?
1) Local control of a corrupt idea is still corrupt. Government owned and run socialist-funded, single-payer, compulsory-funded, godless (secular), and compulsory-use schools are a corrupt because their philosophic foundations are corrupt.
2) Socialism is corrupt and government schools are, ( and always have been) a socialist-entitlement. The children who attend risk learning that the government ( even very local government) has the power to give them tuition-free schooling. Well!...If the voting mob can give them tuition-free school, why not **lots** of free stuff?
3) Fundamentally, government schooling is a freedom of conscience and First Amendment abomination even if the districts were the size of a city block. Why?
Answer: Because it is absolutely impossible to have a religiously, culturally, and politically neutral education. It likely almost impossible to get all citizens, ( even in a district as small as a suburban subdivision) , to fully agree on any government school's political, cultural, or religious worldview. Inevitably, the most powerful and organized voting mob gets to indoctrinate the next generation of voter in their anointed and government established cultural, political, and religious belief.
Very respectfully...please consider what I have posted.
AS WELL AS THE 'ANN COULTER TRUTH IN JOURNALISM' AWARD
thanks. I think.
Well, I think you already answered that question.
Ethics are nothing to the urban grifters'.
I fixed it for you Homie!
I apologize for taking so long to answer- too much schoolwork!
I appreciate your points. Locally-controlled public schools are, largely, paid for by local taxpayers. While I cannot rule out state-level oversight, it would seem to be necessary, as I do not believe that all local control would be productive (i.e. Atlanta). Some areas are just, simply, too corrupt. But local school districts, answerable to the voters, is a far better idea than ANY federal control- which is an abject failure.
I heard an interesting idea recently, but cannot remember who said it. His suggestion was to the Christian and religious communities, that they take a greater interest in the schooling of children. After all, they do a lot of missionary work and the establishing of free schools in foreign countries, so why not turn some of that inward, HERE, and actually compete with the public schools by offering free education?....I wish....
Don't hold your breath waiting for the Christian churches to step up and do their duty before God. Why?
1) Too many ministers have spouses working in the godless government schools.
2) Too many government indoctrinators ( oops! "teachers") sitting in the pews along with all the vendors to the schools. Few ministers will bite the hand putting money in the collection plate. ,i>
