Residents of states that refuse to set up health insurance exchanges under Obamacare are set to be hit with higher premiums under new rules announced by the Health and Human Services Department.

Insurance companies will be charged 3.5 percent of any premiums they sell through the federal exchanges, the department announced Friday. And insurers are likely to pass that surcharge on to clients, leaading to higher premiums.

The only states to be affected are those that refuse to set up their own exchanges because of opposition to the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act. They are almost certain to be those under Republican control. In those states, HHS will set up the exchanges. …

67% of respondents polled were against Obamacare when it was voted on. Then, last November 6, they all (?) voted for its implementation.

This is good example of the insidiousness of obamacare, they can quickly enact new rules or make stuff up at any time to counter any attack or close up any unintended loopholes.

The law is a couple thousand pages of massive powers granted in very vague, wide-open language. When they come up with a new “rule” they can say “page 2105, section 9, p2, it says that such and such will be determined by the secretary...blah blah blah.” They can literally make *hit up and even if someone tries to fight it, they will lose after a long legal battle.

It should have been deemed unconstitutional on this fact alone! If a bill is so big that nobody including the supreme court will read the whole thing, how can anyone say without a doubt that its constitutional? We are ruled by stupid power mad people, they are no longer our servants.

The old revolution was against an off shore power.

The new revolution will be a civil war. Whether bloody or bloodless remains to be be seen.

It’s a taaaaaaaaaaax!

Instead of requiring you to pay for X, which would be blatantly unconstitutional, they just tax you and buy X for you with the tax money. Clever ain’t it.

>>> he could take live kittens/puppies and toss them into boiling hot water...

lol... you are correct... that would be much worse publicly speaking than murdering a human being.

Obama makes Slick Willie look like Nixon.

How do upcoming Senate races look? Potential to create a Senate that would convict Bummer upon impeachment?

"under new rules announced by the Health and Human Services Department."

This is how the admin will get around any protest against obama care by the states. When all is said and done, obamacare will make the IRS rules and regs look like child's reading.

In five years this thing will be tens of thousands of pages of rules, and grow yearly by thousands of pages.

They probably had commie think tanks like the Apollo alliance writing the 2500 pages for a decade or more. They are very clever

Someone get some dirt on this bastard.

Dirt!? Dirt!?

There's enough dirt on this creep to start a garden bed three 4 feet deep on the deck of the frakkin' Intrepid while she sits at dock on the Hudson.

But...as long as the NY Times, NBCBSABC are running cover for him...olny so much dust to be swept away.

A first revolution was begun over taxes, and not even because those taxes (stamp act) were going to be more than a trivial economic burden but because they would be so impossibly intrusive (all printed matter).

Will a second one begin over taxes? “Peaceful” or not? In principle peaceful avenues exist; in practice some malicious venom has paralyzed what would have been a very restive body politic. So many people actually think of our government as some omnipurpose do-gooder rather than the malignant wart it has evolved into. If an issue comes up, oh let’s let Uncle Sam (if not Uncle State) solve it. Pahtooey!

Problem is it seems this bastard has MORE dirt on everyone else.

Roberts caved and there is not one judge with the balls to say someone has standing..

Bonehead never had any balls so perhaps Zero does not need any dirt on him.

Illicides may not leave physical bodies like Arkancides did, so much as permanently impotent political bodies. The ease by which fatal dirt can be laid on a career by the media/democrat collusion is breathtaking.

“Just a few days ago, I heard our Governor remark that the administration was ignoring the state officials responsible for crafting the healthcare programs. He elaborated on it; then said “it’s not right”. I don’t know what’s happened since.”

Perhaps the time is right for a “Conference of Conservative States” — in which the governors (and other officials) of the deep-red states get together to discuss how they might unite amongst themselves to counteract the growing tyranny of the federals in D.C. ... :)
