News Flash: Senate to Vote on UN Treaty [Update: 60 yes votes, 40 no votes, Treaty FAILS!]

The US Senate will be voting Tuesday, December 4th on whether to ratify a United Nations treaty on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities. Beneath the surface of this important sounding effort, is a crafty attempt to bequeath more of our American sovereignty to the authority of the United Nations.

America has some of the most stringent protections for those who are disabled. This treaty supposedly makes it a more global effort to support the disabled. Proponents say if the US signs the treaty other nations would be more likely to improve their own efforts with the disabled.

But like the Affordable Care Act, there are numerous provisions buried in the legalese that make this treaty unworthy at best and scary at the worst. Americans would be required to register any child with disabilities. Certain choices regarding a child's care wouldn't necessarily remain under the parent's control. Not to mention the cost and new accountability to a global entity. Let's let Americans keep American laws.

The enemies of freedom fell 6 votes short of ratifying this pile of dog crap.

Friends, we need to get rid of whoever the Republicans are who voted for this garbage.

Jeff Sessions of Alabama led the floor fight against this dangerous treaty.

What AMERICAN Senator would actually vote FOR this tripe? It’s disgusting that we were that close to having this done.

This will be back. Shoved into some other innocuous ‘for the children’ initiative that either Obama will order by decree or the MarxoFascists will shove into another bill and enact by default.

Conditioning the American people to ‘register’ every and all things the MarxoFascist Left seeks to have power over - will become the new normal.

A Senator who is compromised and corrupted. Like the wolf at the gate those who pushed this are not done. They will be back, bet on it.

I'd go out on a limb and guess "The Twins from Maine".

That's a total guess, but I think that it's a safe one.

Awesome news. Last week my family and I personally lobbied several Senate offices in DC against this treaty. I’m still recovering.

Barraso and Ayotte are big surprises....the rest, I figured were the ones who would do so.

Fortunately, Brown and Lugar and Snowe will be gone soon.
