Karl Rove taken off the air as Fox News distances themselves from conservative pundit after his Election Night tantrum

Karl Rove has officially been benched as Fox News chief Roger Ailes has reportedly suspended the Republican operative from their airwaves.

Rove and Dick Morris, a fellow paid political analyst, have been temporarily banned from appearing on Fox News as the network tries to distance themselves from the two men whose election predictions ended up being so far from the result.

New York Magazine's Gabriel Sherman reports that Ailes decided that it is important for Fox News to take a step back from Rove and Morris because, as his deputy Bill Shine put it, 'the election's over'.

Shine reportedly sent a memo to all of the network's news producers ordering them to seek special permission before booking Morris or Rove for any segments.

Though Rove and Morris are receiving the same treatment, their backgrounds are very different, as Morris began his political career working for then-President Bill Clinton.

He has since become one of the leading conservative pundits and extremely critical of President Obama.

One of the clearest reasons why the channel wants to create some distance between himself and the so-called 'architect' of the second Bush presidency is because of his on-air temper tantrum on Election Night.

Rove made himself the subject of mockery after arguing live on Fox News that the network was wrong and that Romney had won Ohio even though they were ready to call it for Obama.

Fox host Megyn Kelly chided him on air, questioning whether his calculations were 'math you do as a Republican to make yourself feel better'.

Dick Morris will chill for six months and start to appear on CNN (my humble opinion). Rove? He’s not likely to be seen for the next twelve months. If I were him....I’d go off to Aruba....sip whiskey sours on the beach, and find some minor senatorial candidate for the 2016 race who might want some cheap help.

Fox will have to do a lot more than that to get me to watch again.

Fox should never have allowed Rove to appear on the air as some sort of analyst as he always was and always will be a political operative who tries to build up some Republicans while tearing others down.

Morris was less objectionable and at times interesting, but also too wrong too much of the time.

But unless there is a big, breaking news story, I seldom watch Fox these days (or any other TV news), and Rove’s on air political operation was one of the main reasons.

The absence of “The Architect” will be a hole in Hannity’s schedule, but I guess he can now have Rubio on several nights per week to fill the time.

If Rove and Morris were both Democrats and they had a show on MSNBC, the news channel would be doubling down on using them as shills .
That’s the problem with the Republicans. They don’t seem to want to fight back. The political game in Washington has changed.

I've never liked either Rove or Morris. I'm fine with this, actually.

Of course, I'm no fan of Fox News either, but that's neither here nor there.

Earth to FOX News, Karl Rove is NOT a Conservative.

Fox News considers anyone right of Rivera to be Conservative. Rove & Morris were simply useful tools used to bring this election closer to the democrats agenda by trying to make them out to be the Conservative voice. Yes even down to the pretended outrage and tantrums.

My bet is Karl will be back on their shows by next election in 2014 pushing for moderates in congressional elections. The ongoing Fox theme will be move the GOP closer to center. Fox News is strictly Beltway GOP-E & DEM. Their 6-11 nightly line up shows as much. If Fox News has a Conservative show I've not seen such now in years. But they do have plenty of Liberal & Moderate hosted shows though. I wish we'd seen the last of Rove but most likely he'll be back unfortunately.

quote “arguing live on Fox News that the network was wrong and that Romney had won Ohio even though they were ready to call it for Obama. “

um... that is NOT what happened at all.

Rove was simply arguing if the call on Ohio from Obama was made too early, not that Romney had won.

Anyone that defines Rove as a conservative needs to get out of the journalism/pundit business.

That's exactly how I remember it as well. He was trying to make the case that a bunch of votes were not counted yet and Fox was calling for Ohio. So OH went to Obama, but these stupid networks are so quick to call races. It's all a dog and pony show.

WTF is with this Dick Morris fascination?

What? Everybody forgot that this SOB, paid by the Clinton Foundation on a pass-through from George Soros, spent months in Kenya, joined at the hip with Senator BH Obama, as they campaigned on the stump for Marxist, Jihadist, DDR-trained Terrorist, Raila Odinga?

Together the Toe-Jammer Morris and Obama raised millions for this Christian-massacring SOB, whose platform was sharia-law in separate autonomous all-Muslim Provinces, the expulsion of Christians from the government, the dispossession of Christian farmers, the expulsion of Christian Missionaries, etc.

When Odinga lost the UN-observed election, his followers went on a rampage, threw the country into a famine by displacing 250,000 Christian farmers, killed thousands more in their churches, and threatened to plunge Kenya into civil war.

Then they come back and lobby The State Department and the UN to name Odinga Kenya's Prime Minister ... or else. Then they invite the Commie Jihadist scumbag to the Inauguration.

The Senator broke the law ... which forbids federally elected officials from taking part in foreign politics. Kenya's legal government complained bitterly to GW Bush, whose fault, for once, the situation really was.

The Dick Morris and the Mombasa MF have blood on their hands ... and Roger Ailes puts the guy on TV. Foxtrot Uniform, Ailes!
