Dean Exposes Obama's Need For Middle Class Tax Hike

Posted 12/06/2012 06:52 PM ET

Taxes: The president says all he wants is for "the wealthiest Americans to pay a little more." But far-left Howard Dean just reminded us Obama wants a lot more from all taxpayers.

Interviewed by MSNBC's Lawrence O'Donnell on Wednesday, the ex-Vermont governor and 2004 Democratic presidential candidate shocked many with comments that really should have shocked no one.

"This is, initially, gonna seem like heresy from a progressive," Dean said. "The truth is, everybody needs to pay more taxes, not just the rich. That's a good start, but we're not gonna get out of this deficit problem unless we raise taxes across the board."

Dean added, "I actually have mixed feelings about striking a deal where the rich folks pay more taxes," preferring to go over the cliff at the end of the year.

Spending cuts were Dean's chief concern, but selectively so. Pining for Pentagon cuts, Dean had this sneer for the military: "They just ordered new uniforms for their chauffeurs for the top brass."

Adding her intellectual weight on O'Donnell's program was MSNBC commentator Krystal Ball (her real name), whose 15 minutes of infamy came in 2010.

That's when sexually-explicit photos of her surfaced during her far-left Democratic campaign for a redder-than-red Virginia congressional seat, in which she picked up just 35% of the vote.

According to Krystal's crystal ball, "We probably will have to raise taxes on a lot of people."

“It’s not that I want to punish your success, I just want to make sure that everybody who is behind you, that they’ve got a chance at success too,” Obama told the plumber.

“My attitude is that if the economy’s good for folks from the bottom up, it’s going be good for everybody. If you’ve got a plumbing business, you’re gonna be better off if you’ve got a whole bunch of customers who can afford to hire you, and right now everybody’s so pinched that business is bad for everybody, and I think when you spread the wealth around, it’s good for everybody."

And just wait until there is FORCED LABOR CAMPS! (another wonderful socialist program)

They can’t pay half the people to sit around doing nothing forever, can they?

Part of the problem is that they don't understand the difference between tax rates and tax revenues. Every time tax rates have been cut, tax revenues have increased. Obama even admitted that cutting capital gains rates would increase capital gains revenues, but in the interest of "fairness," he wanted to keep capital gains rates high.

We're on the wrong side of the Laffer Curve. Cutting tax rates would allow the economy to grow, and tax revenues would inevitably increase. Too bad Republicans don't understand this either.

Say what you will about Screamin’ Howie Dean, he is one of the very few Democrats who, in an unguarded moment, will blurt out the truth.

Gosh didn't see that one coming.

About 40 million Americans are about to get a remedial lesson in the leftwing's envy politics.

A progressive intellectual's job, his burden, his debt to society, is to sit around drinking excellent beverages and thinking up good things other people can be made to do under the lash.

That's why they couldn't nominate him.

The PRC all agree, the one essential skill of governance is the ability to lie .... smoothly, effectively, and with convincing sincerity.

I’ve said more than once to my friends and acquaintances during this debate, “when they figure out that taxing the rich alone won’t come close to solving this financial dilemma, they’ll work their way down to the middle class. They say the rich have set the precedent, but it’s time now for ALL to sacrifice.”

obama lied about the idea of ‘fair’ as well, he wants control...fairness means nothing...higher rates mean more control...that is what they want.

Ever notice the solution is rarely to cut taxes?

Take your pick:

Severely cut entitlements/benefits to the bone and let the States figure out their own system of “charity” (Which the majority, even those who say they are for limiting government, lol, are against)

Infinite QEs coupled with spending binges that will eventually make currency meaningless (The Zimbabwe model)

Huge across the board tax increases for everyone, (A lot of productive citizens are currently being ripped off by the income tax/AMT) including welfare/food stamp recipients. Since the welfare recipients understand the phrase "cutting benefits", backdoor the system/recipients with large perpetual tax increase based on the amount of dependents. Of course you need to start slowly (Frog in the boiling pot). Those who do not work, call it the “entitlement tax” and those who do work and receive federal benefits, call it “the serfdom tax”. We all need to sacrifice, lol.

It’s obvious obama wants to destroy this nation and we know why. But why does Reid, Pelosi and the rest of the liberals want to destroy it?

Yes, but even if tax cuts stimulate the economy (Enhance government revenues) you still have massive spending obligations, massive debt, and massive unfunded liabilities awaiting future generations.

Spending cuts are realistically out of the question since leechers are the dems bread and butter when it comes to garnering votes. Those who propose cuts will be outnumbered, even in the so called "conservative" Party (They want to win elections too).

Also, like the 1980s, the revenues coming in will cause even more spending binges because again, politicians want to win elections.

The fiscal cliff is really the “conservative cliff.” Obama and the Dems get higher taxes for everyone *and* defense spending cuts. They get bigger government and government more biased toward entitlement spending. Straight Euro socialism. It’s exactly what they want and the Dems don’t even have to go on record voting for it.

They all want to take advantage of the system; Obama does not want to destroy anything, look how "large" he likes to live (And his Marxist friends).

Lenin/Stalin lived "large" too, its all about control and shifting your own ideological hegemony onto society in order to "rule the school".

Its inconsequential who’s taxed. W/o real substantive spending cuts no amount of tax revenue is going to help.

I ain't no rocket scientist....but I do believe there are more "middle class" tax payers...than the so-called 2%.

And collectively the "middle class" makes more money....than the 2%.

Anyone that pays attention...knows what's coming. Who's forgotten Billy Jeff Rapist....telling American's he never worked harder...but he's just going to have to tax the middle class!!

Good Gawd Almighty!!
