Democrats hold a 10-point lead over Republicans on the Generic Congressional Ballot for the week ending December 9, 2012.

A new Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey shows that 46% of Likely U.S. Voters would vote for the Democrat in their district’s congressional race if the election were held today, while 36% would choose the Republican instead.

On November 4, Republicans were at 46% in this poll. They've dropped 10 points in a month.

Let's wake up, GOP. Kissing Obama's fanny ain't doin' it for ya.

The poll makes no sense. How can people (supposedly independents) switch their decision to vote Democrat just because Obama won?

On November 5, I’d have said Rasmussen’s poll as now was complete BS. Apparently, this country has slid so far down the sh!tter now it is forever lost. Sloth and greed have outpaced honor and the value of work and worthwhile endeavors.

From my own personal perspective, I think some of this is due to complete disillusionment with Republicans in general, at least for the RINO ones in the eyes of real conservatives. I myself wouldn’t and won’t vote for either of my two Georgia Republican Senators again. In fact, I’m going to actively work against them to put real men or women in their place - honest hardworking men or women.

Easy. The people have been corrupted.

“...likely to be well administered for a course of years, and can only end in Despotism, as other forms have done before it, when the people shall become so corrupted as to need despotic Government, being incapable of any other.” B. Franklin, 1787

Id normally say this poll was complete BS but looking around, yeah its probably true. Just look around you, look at what is happening to this country. This is not the America our Founding Fathers would recognize anymore..we have become what we always feared we would become, Venezuela

When the nads left the GOP so did the support for them. Keep it up Boehner and you’ll lose control of the House too.

46% is about the Democrat base. If the question was “are the Democrats perfect?” about 46% would say yes.

What’s going on here is the GOP base is MIA. For some unknown reason, the GOP base is failing to support the Republican party.

Everyone loves a winner. And OBL was right, people will gravitate towards the strong horse.

It is clear that with this election the country has changed and we will be living in a center-left Social Democracy for the foreseeable future. Hence a number of people around the edges of Conservatism can see the handwriting on the wall and are making their plans accordingly. "If you can't beat 'em, join 'em" or somesuch. Planning how to make their lives work in the new paradigm, one way or the other.

Why buy generic coke when the real thing costs the same?

Same for Govt.

If there is no real difference, might as well get the name brand Big Government rather than the cheap quality imitation.

Perfect sense. Just that less people[Conservatives, libertarians, etc] support the GOP. The poll is obvious.

Humans are herd creatures.

But when they eventually turn on Hussein because of his failures, it will be in the same herd manner.

In the meantime, keep your powder dry.

You have it backwards-the GOP is no longer supporting the base. Why should we support any party who is hellbent on being Democratlight?

Makes sense to me. I have been a Republican all my life. Not any more. I won't vote for a Republican again. I don't care if the Libertarian Party candidate only gets one thousand votes in 2016. One will be my vote. The Repubs are dead. The Dems will control the show for many years until the collapse happens. Then it is a new game.

It's not even the America I recognized from a few short years ago anymore.

Ironic how you all claim things have changed.

I guess since I’ve always lived here (physically beautiful Ft. Lauderdale suburbs) it hasn’t changed for me.

It’s just ideologically destitute around here.

I see you're from the People's RepubliKKK of Califonia, so you are awash in loony leftism, I'm sure.

But, even here in the relative conservative bastion of Texas, we are feeling the Leftist invasion. Even in my formerly conservative city of Fort Worth, you cannot refuse to hire, rent to, or promote a cross-dresser at the risk of your business being shut down.

Would it be any worse than today?

Can you think of any reason for the numbnuts GOP to survive in the future? What will their platform be?
